British Airways CEO Contact Details

Verified 24 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryPublished by Silas T Nkoana, Cape TownReport a wrong number

British Airways publishes no telephone number and no email address for its chief executive. What it does publish is a South African customer line, +27 10 344 0130, open Monday to Friday 07:30 to 17:00, and a press office mailbox, press.office@ba.com. Sean Doyle has been Chief Executive since October 2020 and Chairman since April 2021. We read this on britishairways.com and on the British Airways media centre on 24 September 2026.

British Airways also runs an assistant on its own site that can hand you to a human adviser outside those hours, which is worth using when the South African line is closed.

Who the chief executive is

British Airways states on its own media centre that Sean Doyle was appointed Chief Executive in October 2020 and Chairman in April 2021. He first joined the airline in 1998 and ran Aer Lingus before returning to it.

That page is a biography rather than a contact route. The only address attached to it is the press office, and the press office exists for journalists. press.office@ba.com covers the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa and Asia Pacific, and americas.newsroom@ba.com covers North America. The airline says the press office is closed between 18:00 and 08:00 on weekdays, and at weekends and on public holidays.

Why writing to the chief executive slows you down

A letter addressed to an airline chief executive is opened by the customer relations team, which is where it was going to end up anyway. The difference is that it arrives with no case reference attached, so the first thing that happens is that somebody has to open one and ask you for the whole story again.

Start on the complaints and claims page on britishairways.com instead. It opens a case and gives you the reference that every later call or email can be attached to. Have these to hand before you start:

  • The booking reference, six letters and numbers in the pattern AB2CD3, from your confirmation email.
  • The flight number, the date, and the airport where the problem happened.
  • Receipts, if you are claiming expenses after a delay or a cancellation.
  • The baggage file reference, if a bag is missing.

The baggage addresses look wrong but are not

Both South African lost property addresses end in colossalaviation.co.za rather than ba.com. That is not an error and it is not somebody impersonating the airline. British Airways publishes those two addresses itself, on its own contact page, for lost property at Cape Town and at Johannesburg.

The same page gives World Tracer station codes, CPT146 for Cape Town and JNB146 for Johannesburg, and marks both stations as covering international flights only. Quote the station code along with your file reference when you chase a delayed bag, because that is what the tracing system searches on.

What this page will not carry

There is no direct line, no personal mailbox and no home address for Sean Doyle or for anyone else at the airline on this page, and adding one is not something we will do on request.

The reason is practical rather than ceremonial. A personal line sitting high in search results is exactly what lends a fraudulent call its credibility, and the person who gets hurt is whoever believed it. Numbers attached to named executives do circulate on data broker sites. Those are guesses sold as facts, and we do not republish them.

Numbers that are not British Airways

Airline support is one of the most heavily impersonated categories in search, because a stranded passenger will ring almost anything.

  • Take the number off britishairways.com yourself rather than from a paid search result or a reply on social media.
  • British Airways does not charge a fee to rebook you on a disrupted flight and does not ask for a card number to release a refund. A caller who wants either is not the airline.
  • Nobody at the airline needs your card PIN, your online banking password or a one time PIN from your bank.
  • If a call feels wrong, end it and dial 010 344 0130 yourself. Do not call back a number the caller gave you.
