BAIC South Africa publishes no head office telephone number and no email address. Its customer care page says help is a phone call or email away, then offers only an online form. The numbers that do exist belong to the dealer network.
Official contact channels
- National route: the customer care form on baic.co.za
- The form routes by topic: aftersales, complaints, parts, service and repair, warranty and service plan, compliments, sponsorship and careers
- It also asks you to choose a province and a dealership
- BAIC operates 47 dealerships across South Africa and neighbouring countries, each with its own number
- A dealer is therefore the only way to reach BAIC by telephone
Before you submit the form for anything vehicle-related, have three things ready: the VIN or chassis number, which is on your licence disc and at the lower left of the windscreen, the registration number, and the current mileage. BAIC asks for all three, and a message without them goes back and forth before anything happens.
What this organisation provides
- Passenger and SUV models sold in South Africa, including the X55 Plus, the B30 and the B40 Plus Honor Edition
- Vehicle finance and current offers
- Test drive bookings through the dealer network
- Service, parts and warranty support
- A service and warranty plan structure published separately from sales
BAIC is a relatively new entrant to the South African market compared with the established brands, so parts availability and dealer coverage are worth checking for your own area before buying rather than after.
Address and operating information
- Gauteng dealers include Bryanston on 011 326 1954, Centurion on 012 678 0000 and Boksburg on 010 591 6602
- Western Cape: Century City on 021 002 2696
- KwaZulu-Natal: Durban CBD on 031 368 3977 and Ballito on 087 007 1010
- Eastern Cape: East London on 043 289 0959; Free State: Bloemfontein on 051 448 0055 and Bethlehem on 058 303 3600
- The network also extends beyond South Africa, with dealers in Eswatini and Botswana
- The dealer list on the BAIC site can be filtered by province
Note that one dealer uses an 087 number rather than a geographic code. That is a voice-over-IP line charged as a standard call, so it is not more expensive to dial from another province.
Support and escalation routes
- Start with the selling or servicing dealer, then the customer care form for a brand-level complaint
- Use the complaints topic on the form rather than the general one, so it is routed correctly
- Warranty and service plan terms are set by the brand, not by the individual dealer
- Unresolved motor disputes go to the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa on 010 590 8378
- A safety recall is carried out free of charge by any franchised dealer, regardless of where the vehicle was bought
Because there is no published head office number, keep your own written record. A form submission leaves you without a call reference, so save the confirmation and follow up in writing rather than assuming the message was received.
