Save this before you need it. If your vehicle is stolen or hijacked in Rustenburg, the number is 080 013 2323, Tracker’s local emergency line, answered 24 hours a day. Everything else on this page can wait; that cannot.

Tracker emergency and support numbers

Tracker’s Rustenburg office

Tracker Connect (Pty) Ltd lists a Rustenburg office on the Tracker Offices tab of its Locate Us map, at 215 Beyers Naude Drive, Rustenburg, North West, with the contact number 0860 111 325. Use it for office queries. If the vehicle has been stolen or hijacked, phone the emergency line above first; that is the one that starts a recovery.

Getting a unit fitted in Rustenburg

Tracker units are fitted through a network of fitment centres, which the Locate Us tool lists separately from Tracker’s own offices, and it marks some of them as Exclusive Centres: certified Tracker-exclusive installation facilities. Rustenburg Auto Electrical is listed on Tracker’s own tool as an Exclusive Centre for the town.

Get the current address and number from the Locate Us tool on tracker.co.za rather than from an old listing. Fitment centres are independent businesses that come and go from the network, and a centre that has left it can no longer issue a valid installation certificate.

The installation certificate is the point

If your insurer required a tracking device as a condition of cover, the installation certificate is what proves it was fitted. Get it at the time of fitment, check the vehicle details on it are correct, and send it to your broker the same week. A claim declined because the certificate was never lodged is a miserable and entirely avoidable outcome, and it is one of the topics on Tracker’s own enquiry form.

What the online form routes on

Tracker’s contact form makes you pick a topic, and the list tells you what it can handle without a phone call: updating bank details, updating personal or vehicle details, financial and invoice queries, trip log reports, technical assistance, the installation certificate, Web and App support, contract period enquiries, installation enquiries, switching products or change of ownership, and subscription cancellation. Pick the topic rather than Other and you skip a routing step.

Selling the car, or cancelling

  • Change of ownership is a specific option on the form. Do it when the car is sold, or you keep paying for a unit in someone else’s vehicle.
  • Cancellation is also its own option. Cancel in writing through the form and keep the reference. A verbal cancellation to a call centre is the classic cause of a debit order that carries on.
  • Check what notice period your contract requires before you cancel, and whether the unit must be removed or de-registered.

If a debit order continues after you cancelled

Dispute the debit with your own bank first, inside the bank’s reversal window, then take the cancellation reference back to Tracker. A dispute you cannot resolve can go to the National Financial Ombud Scheme for the debit order side and, if the contract itself is the problem, is a consumer matter under the Consumer Protection Act.
