TAB is South Africa tote betting brand for horseracing, soccer and selected sports. The name people search for is TAB, but the company behind it is 4Racing, and that is whose contact details actually reach a human.
Official contact channels
- National office: 011 681 1500, for urgent matters during business hours
- Customer care email: [email protected]
- Head office: Turffontein Racecourse, 14 Turf Club Street, Turffontein, Johannesburg, 2190
- A routed enquiry form on the 4Racing website, which asks you to pick a topic
- Each racecourse publishes its own contact panel on its venue page
The enquiry form deliberately replaced the direct mailto addresses that used to appear across the site, so choosing the right topic is now what gets your message to the right desk. If you have an account or a payout query, say so in the topic rather than sending a general enquiry.
What this organisation provides
- Tote and fixed-odds betting on horseracing
- Betting on soccer and selected other sports
- Online betting accounts, a mobile app and retail betting venues
- Racing at its own courses, including Turffontein, Fairview and the Vaal
- A published help centre covering account, deposit and betting questions
Tote and fixed odds are not the same product and the difference matters when you complain. A tote dividend is set by how the pool divides after the race, so it is not known when you bet; a fixed-odds price is agreed at the time of the bet. A payout that differs from what you expected on a tote bet is usually the pool doing its job rather than an error.
Address and operating information
- Registered address at Turffontein Racecourse, Johannesburg
- Racecourse venues each keep their own raceday hours
- Betting is restricted to persons 18 years and older
- The operator holds a licence from the Gauteng Gambling Board
- It also references the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator among its regulators
Note that the licensing province decides who regulates your complaint, not where you live or where you placed the bet. A dispute about a licensed operator goes to the board that licensed it.
Support and escalation routes
- Account, deposit and betting queries: [email protected] or the routed enquiry form
- Urgent business-hours matters: 011 681 1500
- Unresolved complaints about a licensed bookmaker or tote operator go to the Gauteng Gambling Board
- The National Gambling Board oversees the sector nationally
- Free, confidential help for gambling problems is available 24 hours a day on 0800 006 008
- You can also send the word HELP by WhatsApp to 076 675 0710
The responsible gambling helpline is independent of the operator and free to call. It also arranges self-exclusion, which is the mechanism for barring yourself from betting accounts and venues; asking the operator alone does not achieve the same thing.
Keep records if you are disputing a bet. Bet reference numbers, timestamps and screenshots are what the operator and the gambling board will ask for, and account histories are far easier to argue about while the raceday is recent.
