FOMO SA Contact Details
FOMO is a South African discounted experiences platform, selling vouchers for restaurants, spas, activities and getaways in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. It runs support almost entirely on WhatsApp rather than a call centre, and publishes no landline.
Official contact channels
- Support, which FOMO advertises as 24/7 on WhatsApp: 077 451 6611. This is the number the platform publishes for customer queries, including negotiating a group or corporate booking
- Reporting a merchant who asks for payment outside the platform: 073 673 9974
- Refund requests and merchant applications are submitted through forms on the FOMO website rather than by phone
- FOMO also runs an app, a gift card balance checker and a restaurant reservation system, each with its own section on the site
Both published numbers are mobile numbers used as business channels, because FOMO does not publish a landline. The only email address on the website is the personal mailbox of a named individual, so it is not reproduced here; use the WhatsApp line or the website forms instead.
What this organisation provides
- Discounted vouchers for activities, spas and massages, beauty treatments, restaurants and getaways
- City-specific listings for Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, each split into activities, spas, beauty, food and getaways
- Flight booking and accommodation deals, and a rush deals section for short-notice offers
- A merchant side, where restaurants and experience operators apply to list their own offers
- FOMO states it has over 700,000 users
Paying safely on the platform
FOMO gives one clear instruction about payment, and it is worth following, because paying a merchant directly puts the transaction outside anything the platform can help you recover.
- Every purchase should go through the FOMO platform itself, not by EFT or cash to the merchant
- If a merchant asks you to pay them directly, FOMO asks you to report it on 073 673 9974 or by WhatsApp on 077 451 6611
- Check the voucher validity dates and the scheduled service terms before buying, since experience vouchers usually expire
- Keep the voucher reference and proof of payment until the experience has been redeemed
Address and escalation routes
- Registered address: 225 Mayfair, 1 Oasis Lane, Cape Town, Western Cape, 8001. This is an office address, not a walk-in redemption point
- For a voucher that was not honoured or a refund that has not arrived, use the refund form on the website first, then follow up on WhatsApp quoting the order number
- If FOMO does not resolve a complaint, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud takes consumer disputes on 0860 000 272, WhatsApp 081 335 3005, or info@cgso.org.za
