GoBid has no Centurion branch. Its own branch list, read on 7 September 2026, shows five Gauteng sites and Centurion is not one of them – the two that bracket it are Midrand Commercial at Chloorkop and Pretoria at Pretoria West. Neither is far, but they keep different hours, and on a Friday that matters.

  • GoBid Midrand Commercial – corner Norwalk and Hytor Street, Chloorkop. Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:00, Friday 08:00 to 14:00
  • GoBid Pretoria – 200 Hornsnek Road, Pretoria West. Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00
  • GoBid Kempton Park – 98B 3rd Avenue, Bredell AH, Kempton Park, 1619. Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00

Midrand closes two hours earlier on a Friday than the rest. It is also the commercial branch, so it is the one geared to trucks and heavier stock rather than passenger cars – worth knowing before you drive there for a hatchback.

The two mailboxes do different jobs and the site says so: info@ is for general questions, service@ is for an existing account or an order that has gone wrong. Sending a bidding dispute to info@ adds a hop.

What GoBid actually buys

This is an auction house that buys as well as sells, and its stated buying list is broader than most: accident-damaged vehicles, non-runners and non-starters, vehicles still under finance, and used vehicles including those older than ten years, with immediate payment. The under-finance case is the one worth flagging – the settlement goes to the bank first and only the balance reaches you, so ask for that split in writing before you accept an offer.

Before you bid or drive out

  • Auction stock is sold as it stands. Viewing happens at the branch holding the vehicle, so confirm which branch has it before travelling – the lot is not necessarily at your nearest site.
  • A non-runner cannot be driven away. Ask what removal costs and how long you have to collect before storage is charged.
  • Get the total in writing before bidding. Buyer commission, documentation and VAT sit on top of the hammer price and change what you actually pay.
