The OUTA contact number is 087 170 0639 and the general email is info@outa.co.za. OUTA, the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse, is a registered non-profit civil action organisation that investigates and exposes government corruption and the misuse of tax money. It started in 2012 as the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance to fight Gauteng e-tolls and took its current name in 2016. OUTA is not a government body and cannot act for you against SARS, a municipality or a state entity. OUTA does not publish a WhatsApp number, fax line, office hours or a separate media mailbox. Its PAIA manual calls the office Building 4 rather than Unit 4 of the same office park.

How to report corruption to OUTA
Reporting corruption. OUTA takes tip-offs only through its Whispli platform, linked from the Report Corruption page. There are two portals: one for corruption between the state and private companies, and one for corruption inside government institutions. You register a login, which lets the OUTA investigations team message you back while you stay anonymous. OUTA asks whistleblowers not to phone or email tip-offs, and it needs documentary evidence it can rely on. A report without evidence, or one outside its public sector mandate, may be closed. Keep the reference code Whispli gives you.
How to become an OUTA supporter
Supporting OUTA. You can join as an individual or a business at outa.co.za/join-now, with a monthly donation by debit order or card, or join the OUTA community without donating. OUTA is Section 18A registered, so donations are tax deductible up to 10% of taxable income, and it issues 18A certificates after each tax year. Existing supporters update their details at outa.co.za/contactlogin using their supporter number and a one-time PIN sent by email. If you have lost your supporter number, email supporter@outa.co.za or call 087 170 0639.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
OUTA’s supporter terms are clear that a donation does not buy a personal service. Supporters cannot expect direct help or benefit from OUTA, and OUTA cannot guarantee the outcome of any legal matter it takes on. Its work follows a set order: research and investigate, engage the people responsible, expose, mobilise the public, and go to court only as a last resort.
OUTA and e-tolls
On e-tolls, Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project tolling ended on 11 April 2024. Through its E-Toll Defence Umbrella OUTA was defending 2,028 motorists, and in August 2025 it asked the Pretoria High Court to find that SANRAL had abandoned those cases. Motorists covered by the umbrella should use the supporter channels above for updates.
You can cancel a monthly debit order at any time by contacting supporter services.
Escalation route
- For supporter or donation problems, email supporter@outa.co.za with your supporter number, or call 087 170 0639.
- If that does not resolve it, write to info@outa.co.za with the date of your first contact.
- For a corruption report, follow up inside Whispli using your reference code rather than by phone.
OUTA will never ask you to pay a fine or a toll through it. Anyone asking for money in OUTA’s name outside the join page on outa.co.za is not OUTA.
