Sasol is an integrated chemicals and energy company. Its contact page is organised by function rather than by a single switchboard, and the right route depends on whether you are a fuel customer, a supplier, a journalist or a member of the public raising a concern.

Official contact channels

Note that 0860 104 777 is published as the supplier management line rather than a general customer contact centre. Using it for a retail fuel complaint will mean being redirected.

What this organisation provides

Sasol produces fuels, chemicals and low-carbon energy, operating refineries and chemical plants and a retail fuel network in South Africa. Because the group spans industrial operations and a consumer-facing forecourt business, the contact routes reflect very different audiences: a motorist with a complaint about a service station and a chemicals customer are served by entirely separate parts of the organisation.

For anything relating to a Sasol service station β€” fuel quality, service, pricing or a card transaction β€” the South African fuel customer queries and complaints line is the published route. Retail queries are handled separately from group functions.

Sasol also publishes an EthicsLine, an independent channel for reporting fraud, corruption or unethical conduct. It is deliberately separate from the customer and supplier routes so that reports do not pass through the business area they concern.

Address and operating information

Sasol does not publish contact centre operating hours on its contact page, and it does not publish a walk-in public address there. The switchboard reaches the group’s corporate offices rather than an operational site, and individual plants and service stations are not contactable through it.

Sasol publishes separate media contacts for South African group relations and for international chemicals, which matters for journalists: an international chemicals query sent to group media relations will simply be forwarded.

Support and escalation routes

Sasol publishes several dedicated mailboxes rather than one general address, and they are worth using precisely: enterprise and supplier development is a distinct programme from supplier management, and corporate social investment is separate from sponsorships. Sending a proposal to the wrong one is the most common reason it goes unanswered.

Start with the function-specific route rather than the switchboard, since the switchboard will route you to the same place with an extra step. Get a reference number for any complaint, and note the service station name and date for a retail fuel matter β€” Sasol will need to identify which site is involved, and many are operated by independent dealers under the Sasol brand.

Fuel retail complaints that cannot be resolved with Sasol fall under the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, which regulates the petroleum sector in South Africa, and consumer complaints more generally fall under the National Consumer Commission. Concerns about conduct rather than service should go to the EthicsLine.
