Smollan’s registered South African address is Hathorn House, 27 Hathorn Avenue, Maryvale, Gauteng, 2192, and the switchboard is 011 640 8000. The registered entity is Smollan Holdings Proprietary Limited, registration number 1981/001679/07. Note that Smollan’s website publishes no telephone number for South Africa at all; the number above comes from its own PAIA manual. We read both on 24 September 2026.

That single number covers the head of the company and the information officer, both of whom are listed against it in the PAIA manual. It is the main switchboard.

The street name is spelt two different ways

This will matter if you are posting something or putting it into a navigation app, so it is worth being precise about.

Smollan’s website gives the Johannesburg office as “15 Harthorn House, 27 Harthorn Avenue, Maryvale 2192”, with an r.

Smollan’s PAIA manual, which is a formal document published under the Promotion of Access to Information Act and which states the company’s registered address, gives it as “Hathorn House, 27 Hathorn Avenue, Maryvale, Gauteng, 2192”, with no r.

We have used the PAIA manual’s spelling above, because that is the document in which a company states its registered address for legal purposes. If a delivery or a search fails on one spelling, try the other.

None of the three has its own telephone number or email address published. Smollan lists addresses only. So 011 640 8000 is the number for all of them, and you will need to ask to be put through.

Maryvale is the registered office. Willow Grove is a second Johannesburg site in Houghton, not an alternative name for the same building.

The website will not give you a number

Smollan’s contact page offers a form instead, and the form tells you who it is meant for.

It asks for your name, surname, email, phone number and message, a service from a fixed list, and it makes company name a required field. You cannot submit it as a private individual without putting something in that box.

The four services on the list tell you how the business is divided: Sales & Merchandising, Activation & Experience, Data & Technology, and Digital Commerce.

That is the shape of the company. Smollan works for brands and retailers, not for shoppers. If your query is about a product you bought in a shop, Smollan is not the right company: take it to the retailer or the brand that owns the product.

One caution about the international pages. Smollan’s contact page lists offices in more than 60 markets, and for several countries outside South Africa it publishes named employees’ personal work email addresses. We do not republish personal mailboxes. For South Africa the question does not arise, because none is published.

Which Smollan company you are dealing with

This matters for invoices, vendor forms and contracts, because Smollan Holdings is an investment holding company and the trading is done by separate registered entities beneath it.

Its PAIA manual lists the group members with their own registration numbers. They include Smollan Activation and Experience Proprietary Limited (2006/015162/07), Argility Proprietary Limited (2007/010401/07) and Chirp Insights Proprietary Limited (2012/184965/07), among others, alongside Cquential Solutions.

So a document naming one of those rather than “Smollan” is not necessarily wrong. Check the registration number against the one on the paperwork, and if it does not match any of them, ask.

For a formal request for records, the PAIA manual names an information officer by role, reachable on 011 640 8000. Address correspondence to “The Information Officer” rather than to a person, since office-holders change.
