Unilever South Africa publishes no human resources telephone number and no HR mailbox. Its own contact page names one route for employment: the global careers site. Every number it does publish is a consumer line, and those teams cannot see a job application.
The employment route
- Vacancies for graduates and professionals: careers.unilever.com, which is the route Unilever names on its own South African contact page
- Head office switchboard, for a matter that genuinely needs a person: 031 344 1706
- Registered office: 15 Nollsworth Crescent, Nollsworth Park, La Lucia Ridge, 4051
- Postal address as published: 15 Nollsworth Crescent, Durban North, 4019
Those two addresses are the same building described two ways, and the postal code differs between them on Unilever own page. If you are posting something that matters, use the registered office version, which is the one tied to registration number 1939/012365/07.
Applying, and what to expect
Applications go through the careers portal and nowhere else. There is no address to post a CV to, and dropping one at a site gets it no further than a reception desk. Create a profile, apply against a specific requisition number, and keep that number: it is the only reference anyone can trace.
If you are a current or former employee chasing a payslip, a UIF document, a certificate of service or a provident fund query, go through your line manager or the site HR office where you worked rather than the switchboard. A former employee who has lost that contact should write to the head office address quoting employee number, site and dates of employment.
Recruitment scams use this name constantly
Unilever is one of the most impersonated employer names in South Africa, and the pattern is consistent enough to recognise. Genuine recruitment never asks you for money. Nobody at Unilever charges an application fee, a training fee, a placement fee or a deposit for a uniform or a medical. A real offer follows an interview, comes in writing, and arrives from a corporate domain rather than a free webmail account or a WhatsApp number alone.
- Verify any advertised vacancy against the listing on careers.unilever.com before you respond to it
- Never pay anyone to secure an interview or a position
- Do not send certified copies of your identity document or bank details to a recruiter you have not verified
The numbers Unilever does publish
These are consumer lines, listed here so you can see what they are for rather than as an HR route. Homecare is 0860 572 908, Personal Care is 0860 572 861, Foods is 0860 331 441, and the Consumer Careline is 0860 572 908. There is a consumer WhatsApp on 067 429 7040, and product complaints go to [email protected]. Phoning one of these about a job wastes your airtime and their queue.
