Yellow Pages in South Africa is now Yep!, and yellowpages.co.za redirects to mall.yep.co.za. It is no longer a directory of telephone numbers: it is a marketplace where you search for a service provider, request a quote and pay through the platform. That change explains why looking up a number on it no longer works the way it used to.

How to contact Yep!

No telephone number and no email address are published anywhere on the Yep! site. The form asks for your name, phone number, email, what you need support with and a description of up to 500 characters, and support then contacts you.

It is a Telkom business

This is the useful thing to know, and it is not obvious from the branding. The Yep! contact form is hosted on telkom.co.za, at a Yep! page on the Telkom site. So Yep! sits inside Telkom, and a query that the Yep! form does not resolve can reasonably be escalated through Telkom customer service rather than left unanswered.

If you are looking for a business number

Yep! now lists businesses with their trading address and service categories, and routes you to a Get a Quote button rather than to a telephone number. If you specifically want to phone a business, the platform is the wrong tool: search for the business own website instead. That is a genuine loss of function compared with the old printed and online Yellow Pages, and it is worth saying plainly rather than sending you round in circles.

Before you hire through any marketplace

A listing is not a vetting. Confirm the trader details independently before money changes hands: ask for a company registration number, check any trade registration the work requires, and get the quote in writing with a scope and a price rather than accepting a verbal figure.

Paying through the platform where that is offered gives you a record and a dispute route. Paying a trader directly outside the platform after finding them on it gives you neither.
