For GEHS enrolment support and your GEHS enrolment certificate, call 0861 12 34 34, use www.gehsenrolment.org to sign up, log in and download your confirmation, or email gehs@dpsa.gov.za for GEHS support.

Every public servant who wants to use the Government Employees Housing Scheme (GEHS) has to enrol with it first. That includes employees who want to use the housing allowance, even if they already own their home or pay their bond from their own bank account. The enrolment confirmation PDF is the document people commonly search for as the GEHS enrolment certificate. This page explains the enrolment route, the certificate download process, the GEHS enrolment login and the contact details to use when you cannot complete the process.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory, not the GEHS or the DPSA, and we cannot see your enrolment. For the scheme as a whole, see GEHS contact details. The details on this page were read from the GEHS pages on dpsa.gov.za and from the GEHS enrolment website on 14 September 2026.

The GEHS enrolment contact number is 0861 12 34 34. It is the support line to use if you are stuck with enrolment, have forgotten your password, need the mobile number on your profile changed, or need help completing an unfinished enrolment. The call centre confirms your identity using your ID, passport or PERSAL number and your security answers before an agent can work on your profile.

GEHS enrolment certificate and certificate download

To get the document commonly called a GEHS certificate, complete your enrolment at www.gehsenrolment.org. When the enrolment is finished, the site shows a completion screen with a download for your enrolment confirmation PDF. This confirmation is the document usually referred to as the GEHS enrolment certificate.

For a GEHS enrolment certificate download after you have already completed the process, log in again with your PERSAL number and password. The confirmation can be downloaded again from the enrolment site.

GEHS enrolment login at www.gehsenrolment.org

The enrolment website is www.gehsenrolment.org. The DPSA notes that this is the enrolment site and not www.gehs.gov.za. When the page was checked, gehs.gov.za was not responding at all, so a search result pointing there will not get you enrolled. Enrolment is free; nobody should charge you to do it.

Your PERSAL or Persol number becomes your login name. During sign-up you also choose three security questions. Remember the answers because the GEHS call centre uses them to confirm who you are before it will touch your profile.

What you need for GEHS enrolment

Enrolment is open to people employed in the public service in national and provincial departments. Employees living on communal land with a valid permission to occupy enrol the same way as everyone else. Before starting the enrolment process, have the information the site asks for ready.

  • your South African ID number, or your passport number if you are a foreign national
  • your PERSAL (or Persol) number, which also becomes your login name
  • your names, surname, a contact number and an email address
  • details of your household, finances, where you live now and where you want to live, for the enrolment questions themselves

How to complete GEHS enrolment

Start by signing up at www.gehsenrolment.org with your personal details, accept the terms and complete the security questions. The site then takes you through personal information, your family, your financial profile, your current home and the housing you want. It shows a summary before completion, and the site estimates about 15 minutes for the enrolment process.

Once enrolment is complete, download the enrolment confirmation PDF from the completion screen. If you need the confirmation later, use the GEHS enrolment login with your PERSAL number and password and download it again.

If you cannot finish the process, call 0861 12 34 34. After confirming your identity with your ID, passport or PERSAL number and your security answers, a call centre agent can reset a forgotten password, change the mobile number on your profile, or help you complete an unfinished enrolment.

GEHS housing finance contact

Home loan and switching questions are a separate service. The DPSA lists SA Home Loans on 0860 2 4 6 8 10 as the housing finance call centre. The enrolment site’s loan calculator is not linked to your enrolment.

GEHS enrolment email and escalation

If the call centre cannot resolve an enrolment problem, write to gehs@dpsa.gov.za. Put your PERSAL number in the subject line, describe the step that fails, and include the date of your call and any reference you were given. An email creates a record that a phone call does not.

Your security answers and login details are for the official enrolment site and the 0861 12 34 34 call centre only. If someone contacts you offering guaranteed housing allowance approval or asks for a fee to enrol you, that is not the GEHS. Report fraud or corruption in the public service to the National Anti-Corruption Hotline on 0800 701 701.
