As a main seat the court administers its own work and oversees branch and detached courts elsewhere in the district. It handles criminal and civil cases, maintenance, domestic violence, childrens court and child justice matters, sexual offences and small claims.

The court is at 27 OR Tambo Street, Klerksdorp, 2570, with post to Private Bag A8 at the same code. OR Tambo Street was previously Boom Street, and older directions may still use that name.

No separate after hours domestic violence number is published for Klerksdorp. An urgent protection order outside office hours is applied for through the nearest police station, which contacts the standby magistrate.
