Knysna Traffic Department Contact Details

Knysna does not have a standalone traffic department building. Traffic, driving licences and vehicle registration are all run by Knysna Municipality from the municipal offices in Clyde Street, and each function has its own direct number.

Use the licensing numbers rather than the traffic numbers for a renewal or a test booking. They are different desks, and the traffic line deals with enforcement and fines.

• Cashiers: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00
• Vehicle licence cashiers close earlier: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 15:00. That earlier cut-off is the most common reason for a wasted trip

Renew a licence well before it expires. Testing centre slots are the bottleneck in small Garden Route towns, and a licence that lapses cannot simply be renewed over the counter.
