Jeff Radebe has not been a minister since 2019, so the title attached to this search is out of date. He holds no public office that fields enquiries, and no personal number or mailbox is published for him. The Presidency takes public enquiries on 012 300 5200 or toll free on 17737, and the ANC head office is 011 376 1000. We read this on thepresidency.gov.za and anc1912.org.za on 25 September 2026.

The government’s own page is years out of date

This is worth knowing before you trust anything else you find, including pages on gov.za itself.

The Presidency keeps a page headed Former Minister Jeff Radebe. Under that heading it lists, as his current positions, Minister of Energy and Chairperson of the National Conventional Arms Control Committee.

He left the energy portfolio in 2019. The page contradicts its own title, and it has not been revised since. If an official government page can be seven years stale on a former cabinet minister, a commercial directory quoting a number for him deserves far less trust than that.

Which office you probably want

  • A matter arising from his time in government. That belongs to the department that holds the file, not to the person. Energy, justice, transport, public works and public enterprises all have their own records and their own enquiry routes, and the decision you are asking about was taken by the department rather than personally.
  • Something about the Presidency itself. Use the toll free public enquiry line, 17737, or president@presidency.gov.za. For a letter that needs to be on record, presidentrsa@presidency.gov.za is the correspondence address the Presidency publishes.
  • A party matter. He has held senior positions in the ANC for decades, and party business goes to Luthuli House on 011 376 1000 or queries@anc1912.org.za.
  • An invitation, a speaking request or a commercial approach. There is no published channel for these. A former minister is a private individual, and there is no switchboard that will put you through.

Why no direct details appear here

A person who has left public office keeps the public profile and loses the public switchboard. That combination is what makes them a target, and it is exactly when a directory should stop publishing rather than carry on.

Contact broker sites do sell numbers and addresses attached to his name. Those records are assembled from old government directories and from guessed address patterns. They are frequently wrong, they were never consented to, and paying for one puts you no closer than the numbers above.

Note also what the Presidency itself publishes: direct lines and personal mailboxes for named staff in the private offices of the President and Deputy President. We have not reproduced those either. They belong to individuals, they change with every reshuffle, and a stale direct line for a senior official is a gift to anyone impersonating that office.

Before you call

  • Do not open by asking for him by name. Say what the matter is and which department or period it concerns, and you will be routed. Asking for a former minister personally ends the call.
  • Have dates, a reference number and any correspondence you already hold. Records from a previous administration are traceable by file, not by the minister’s name.
  • 17737 is toll free from a South African landline. From a mobile your own operator’s rate applies.
