Durban is a regional office, which in the RAF’s own words is where claims are lodged and processed. Regional offices house information officers who handle direct claim lodgement and claim status queries, and they double as the provincial office. For KwaZulu-Natal, that is this one.
The postal address is not a box number. The RAF publishes the same street address for post, so anything you send goes to the Embassy Building itself.
The same building is also listed as a customer service centre
This causes confusion, so it is worth spelling out.
The RAF lists a Durban CBD customer service centre at the same 12th Floor of The Embassy Building, on the same number, 031 365 2800. Customer service centres support the RAF’s patient outreach programme and are staffed by field case managers.
So one number reaches both functions in Durban. You do not need to work out which list you are on before dialling.
One small inconsistency: the regional office entry gives the postcode as 4001 and the service centre entry gives 4000, for the same address. Either will reach the building.

The head office is at 2 Eco Glades Office Park, 420 Witch Hazel Avenue, Centurion, on 012 621 1691, open Monday to Friday 07h45 to 16h00, with a fax on 012 621 1640.
Note the contact centre keeps longer hours than the offices, opening 15 minutes earlier and closing half an hour later. Late in the afternoon the contact centre is the better bet.
The RAF website itself is partly broken
If you tried the site and gave up, this is why.
Typing the RAF’s address on its own redirects to an insecure address that times out, so the site looks dead from the front door. The pages do load if you go straight to a full page address on the secure site, which is how we read these contacts.
Two links in the RAF’s own contact menu, Hospital Service Centres and Walk-In Centres, both return “page not found”. The regional offices and customer service centre lists do work.
None of that affects the phone number. 031 365 2800 is current and is what the working page publishes.

A claim is handled by one office. If your accident and your claim were lodged in KwaZulu-Natal, calling Cape Town will not move it along, so stay with Durban.
