The RAF publishes two spellings of its contact centre mailbox, contactcentre@ and Contactcenter@. Both appear on the official page; the British spelling is the one shown in the site header.
Services and responsibilities
The RAF pays claims for medical expenses, loss of earnings, loss of support and general damages arising from road accidents, funded by the fuel levy. It also administers undertakings for future medical costs.
You do not need to pay anyone to lodge a claim. The RAF accepts claims directly from claimants, and touts who charge a fee to submit a claim on your behalf are a persistent problem. Attorneys may be used, but that is a choice, not a requirement.
Claims are subject to strict prescription periods running from the date of the accident, which is why contacting the RAF early matters more than assembling a perfect file. Ask about the deadline that applies to your circumstances on the first call.

The RAF runs regional offices and customer service centres around the country, listed through the find-an-office tools on its site. A claim is usually handled by the office covering the region, not by the Centurion head office.
Applications and escalation
Start with the contact centre or a regional office, quoting your claim number once one exists. Escalate an unresolved matter to [email protected] or the digital complaints form, keeping the reference.

The ethics hotline is run by an independent operator rather than by RAF staff, which is what makes anonymous reporting possible. Beyond the RAF itself, maladministration by a state entity can be taken to the Public Protector.
The RAF also publishes emergency numbers to note in case you are in or witness an accident: Police Flying Squad 10111, Ambulance 10177, 112 from a cellphone, and 1022 if you have difficulty reaching emergency services.
