One link dials a different number
Supersonic’s contact page carries a link labelled “Call centre: 060 068 7377”. The number behind that link is 0861 787 377.
A second link on the same page, showing the same 060 number, does dial 060 068 7377 correctly. So the page is inconsistent with itself rather than simply wrong.
Both appear to be Supersonic’s, and the 0861 one is a word: 787377 spells SUPERS on a telephone keypad. Treat it as an alternative if the 060 number does not answer, but be aware 0861 is charged at a share-call rate.
The hours differ sharply between teams
This is the most useful thing to know before you call, because the difference is large.
- Technical support, for no internet, slow speeds, router issues, connection faults and service interruptions: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 08:00 to 16:00.
- General support: the same hours as technical support.
- Account and billing, for invoices, payments, debit orders, balances, statements, refunds and account updates: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 only.
- Sales and order follow-up: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, and Saturday 08:00 to 14:00.
So a line fault can be reported on a Sunday, but a billing question cannot be answered at all over a weekend. If your service has been suspended over a payment on a Friday evening, the team that can lift it is not available until Monday.
The email domain is not the website domain
Every Supersonic mailbox ends in supersonic.africa, while the website is supersonic.co.za.
That looks wrong and it is not. Both are published by Supersonic on its own contact page. Copy the address carefully, because an email to a .co.za version of these names will not arrive.
It also means a reply from Supersonic arrives from a .africa address. Do not dismiss it as suspicious on that basis alone, but do check the exact spelling, since brands with split domains are easier to imitate.
Four mailboxes, and which to use
Supersonic routes by category and asks you to choose the right one, saying it reduces delays.
- help@supersonic.africa covers technical support, account and billing queries, and general support. One address, three teams behind it.
- salesfollowup@supersonic.africa is for new package enquiries, sales follow-ups and help choosing a service.
- orders@supersonic.africa is for installation updates, activation queries and the status of an existing order.
- complaints@supersonic.africa is for escalation only.
Supersonic also offers a Log a Support Request form, which it calls the fastest way to route a query to the correct team. If you are unsure which category applies, use that rather than guessing a mailbox.
Complaints have a precondition
Supersonic states plainly that complaints should only be used if you have already contacted them and the issue was not resolved through the normal support process, and asks you to avoid the complaints mailbox otherwise.
When you do escalate, it asks for three things: the details of your issue, the support channel you used, and any reference information you were given.
That last one matters. Note your reference number on every earlier contact, because an escalation without one restarts the investigation.
Before you get in touch
Have your account number and the installation address.
For a fault, check the router lights and say what they are doing, whether the problem affects all devices, and when it started. That is the first set of questions any fibre provider asks.
For an order, have the order or reference number and the date you placed it.
Pick the right category before you call or write. Supersonic’s whole contact page is built around routing, and the wrong category is the slowest path.
