Showmax Contact Details

Showmax has closed. DStv’s Showmax FAQs say the Showmax streaming service was discontinued on 30 April 2026 at 23:59, and Showmax Originals and many Showmax titles moved to DStv Stream. There is no longer a separate Showmax contact number or Showmax help centre: when we checked on 16 September 2026, the Showmax help centre address no longer resolved and showmax.com did not load. Is there still a Showmax contact number or helpline?

No. Because the Showmax service ended on 30 April 2026, Showmax no longer runs its own helpline, help centre or support chat. Support for Showmax content now sits with DStv, which is where Showmax Originals are streamed. If you find a “Showmax contact number” or “Showmax helpline” online that asks for your card details, a payment to “reactivate” Showmax, or a one-time PIN, treat it as a scam: Showmax subscriptions cannot be renewed any more. DStv’s official contact page lists WhatsApp self-service on 060 060 3788, live chat, the MyDStv app and USSD.

Why Showmax was discontinued

DStv’s FAQ says the Showmax app was discontinued to bring Showmax Originals and local and international content together with live TV and sport on DStv Stream, creating a single place to watch more entertainment in one app.

What happened to Showmax subscriptions and refunds

• Subscriptions: DStv says customers could keep using Showmax until the end of their current billing or voucher period, and when a Showmax subscription expired, they could subscribe to DStv Compact, DStv Compact Plus or DStv Stream Premium to keep watching Showmax Originals.
• Vouchers: unused Showmax vouchers had to be redeemed by 31 March 2026 for uninterrupted access during April.
• Refunds: DStv’s refund FAQ answers that customers could continue to enjoy their subscription until the end of their billing or voucher period. For a question about a specific payment, contact DStv on WhatsApp or live chat with your Showmax account email address and payment details.

Watching Showmax shows on DStv Stream

According to DStv, Showmax Originals content is available on DStv Stream Compact and all higher packages. To find it, log in to DStv Stream and choose Showmax in the top navigation menu. Many popular Showmax titles moved across, but DStv says some titles could not move because of content licensing agreements, and more content will be added to the Showmax section over the coming months. Your Showmax profiles and watch history did not move to DStv Stream, so you start fresh there.

DStv service centres

For in-person help, DStv lists service centres in Randburg, Polokwane, Durban Central, Umhlanga and Cape Town. The Randburg centre, on the corner of Oak Avenue and Grove Street, Ferndale, is open Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 17:00, closed on Sundays and public holidays, telephone 011 289 2222, and you can book an appointment on DStv’s contact page. DStv Durban Central, at Sky Towers, 275 Anton Lembede Street, is open weekdays 07:30 to 16:00 and Saturdays 08:00 to 14:00, telephone 031 710 2222; the Umhlanga centre on Umhlanga Rocks Drive is open weekdays 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturdays 08:00 to 14:00, also on 031 710 2222. Both are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
