DStv Stream Contact Details
DStv publishes no call centre telephone number. Its contact page describes a call centre and gives its hours, but prints no number for it. The published routes are WhatsApp on 060 060 3788, the USSD string *120*68584#, website live chat and the MyDStv app. Service centres do have numbers, starting with Randburg on 011 289 2222. A call centre with hours but no number
DStv’s contact page states that its call centre is available seven days a week, including public holidays, from 08:00 to 22:00, and notes that standard rates apply. It does not print the number you would dial to reach it. There is no 0860 or 0800 number anywhere on DStv’s contact page.
The contact routes DStv actively promotes are all self-service: WhatsApp, USSD, live chat and the app. That is a deliberate design rather than an oversight, but it does mean that a number you find for DStv on a directory site is not one DStv itself publishes. Treat those with caution.
DStv WhatsApp number 060 060 3788
Save 060 060 3788 as a contact and send the word “Hello” to start. DStv describes this as its self-service channel. For a streaming problem this is usually the best channel, because you can send a screenshot of the error and get the reply in writing.

What the DStv USSD line does
Dial *120*68584# from your cellphone. DStv lists four things it handles: checking what you owe, clearing errors, viewing transactions, and reconnecting packages. Clearing errors and reconnecting are the useful ones. If your service has stopped after a payment, this is faster than any conversation.
DStv attaches one condition: use the number registered on its system. Dialling from a friend’s phone or a second SIM will not find your account. If your registered number has changed, that has to be fixed before the USSD route will work for you.
USSD also works without data, which matters when the problem is that your connection is down.
DStv live chat hours
The website live chat is available 07:00 to 23:00, Monday to Sunday. Click the live chat icon in the bottom right corner of the site. Compare that with the call centre’s 08:00 to 22:00. Live chat opens an hour earlier and closes an hour later, so it is the only staffed route before 08:00 or after 22:00.
The MyDStv app is the fourth route, on Android, iOS and Huawei. DStv notes that the app is for South Africa only and that registration is required.
DStv service centre numbers and addresses
DStv lists five service centres: Randburg, Polokwane, Durban Central, Umhlanga and Cape Town. These are the only walk-in points, and they do publish telephone numbers.
Randburg is at the corner of Oak Avenue and Grove Street, Ferndale, Randburg, on 011 289 2222. It opens Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 08:00 to 17:00, and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Two further numbers appear on the same page for the other centres: 031 710 2222 and 021 508 2222. The 031 code is KwaZulu-Natal and 021 is Cape Town. DStv’s page loads each centre’s details only when you select it, so confirm which centre you have reached when the call is answered.
DStv offers a Book Appointment option for its centres. Use it rather than queueing, particularly if you need hardware attended to.
dstvstream.com is not DStv
Worth knowing given the product name: the address dstvstream.com is not an official DStv address. It redirects to a parked holding page carrying nothing but the domain name, on a subdomain of the kind domain parking services use. There is no DStv content on it and no contact details.
Go to dstv.com. Never enter DStv account details, a card number or a password on a lookalike address, and be wary of anything asking you to “reactivate” a streaming subscription through a link.

- Have your DStv customer number and the identity number of the account holder.
- For a streaming fault, note the exact error message and which device it appears on, and whether it happens on more than one device.
- Check your payment status on the USSD line first. A large share of streaming interruptions are account rather than technical problems.
