Vodacom Forensic Department Contact Details

Vodacom does not publish a number or mailbox for a forensic department. Fraud investigations happen internally, and the public way in is the fraud disputes mailbox. That is where a fraudulent SIM swap, a line or upgrade taken out in your name, or a scam message sent over Vodacom’s network gets investigated. Read from vodacom.co.za on 13 September 2026.

What to send with a fraud dispute

For a dispute about a new line, an upgrade or a SIM swap you did not ask for, Vodacom asks for three things in the email:

• A copy of your ID
• An affidavit describing what happened
• Your bank statements

An affidavit has to be signed in front of a commissioner of oaths, which any police station can do. Put the affected cellphone number and the date you noticed the problem in the email’s subject line, so the dispute can be matched to the account quickly.

Order of calls after a SIM swap

• First, 082 135 from another phone, to stop or reverse the swap
• Second, your bank’s fraud line, because a swapped number receives your one-time PINs
• Then the written dispute to FraudDisputes@vodacom.co.za, with the documents above

Vodacom’s own fraud guidance is blunt on one point: never give anyone your passwords, PINs, banking details or one-time PINs, including someone who says they are from Vodacom and are helping you.

Related routes that are not fraud

An account belonging to someone who has died is handled separately, at deceased@vodacom.co.za or on 082 1946 for subscriber collections. Customers with specific needs have a dedicated line on 082 12580. Business customers report through business support on 082 1940.
