Vodacom does not publish a dedicated legal department number or mailbox: formal legal correspondence goes to the Vodacom corporate office on +27 11 653 5000, at 082 Vodacom Boulevard, Vodacom Valley, Midrand, 1685, or by email to the Company Secretary at companysecretary@vodacom.co.za. Vodacom (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of Vodacom Group Limited.

Requests for call data records, RICA ownership details and other third-party records, including subpoenas and court requests, go to Vodacom’s Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) department at accesslea@vodacom.co.za. The routes here are Vodacom’s own legal routes, not the Vodacom Legal Cover or VodaSure Legal Assist insurance products, which are legal-services insurance sold to customers. For everyday account help, see the main Vodacom contact details page.

What to send with a Vodacom records request

For a records request under the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), complete Prescribed Form 2 (Annexure A of Vodacom’s PAIA manual), address it to “The Head: Vodacom” and attach proof of identity. If illiteracy or a disability prevents you from writing the request, you may make it orally, and the LEA department or any Vodacom shop will help you complete the form.

For a fraud dispute, email your ID, an affidavit and your bank statements to FraudDisputes@vodacom.co.za. For formal correspondence, address it to Vodacom (Pty) Ltd, registration number 1993/003367/07.

How to work through the routes step by step

  1. Decide the matter type: your own account or personal information goes to Customer Care on 082 135; records about calls, RICA or third parties (including legal and court requests) go to the LEA department; corporate or legal correspondence goes to the corporate office or the Company Secretary.
  2. For a records request, complete PAIA Prescribed Form 2 and attach proof of identity.
  3. Send third-party and call data record requests to accesslea@vodacom.co.za (LEA, 087 289 6104 / 087 289 6404).
  4. Send formal legal correspondence to 082 Vodacom Boulevard, Midrand 1685 or Private Bag X9904, Sandton 2146. The switchboard is +27 11 653 5000.
  5. If call recordings are released to you under PAIA, Vodacom makes them available to be heard at a Vodacom shop.

Escalating a legal matter with Vodacom

Vodacom’s code of conduct says unresolved service complaints escalate internally, from the agent to a team leader, a supervisor and then a manager. For legal matters, Vodacom does not publish a separate escalation contact beyond the corporate office and Company Secretary routes above.

For other networks and providers, browse the telecoms and internet hub or the telecoms directory V listings.
