Vodacom’s online chat is TOBi, its digital assistant, which you can open in a browser at help.vodacom.co.za/tobi/home/web, message on WhatsApp at 082 009 8624 or reach by SMS on 082 009 4975. Vodacom says TOBi is available 24/7 and can get a person to call you back or hand you to a live agent. These routes were read on vodacom.co.za, on the TOBi, My Vodacom, contact and code of conduct pages, on 16 September 2026.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory and is not part of Vodacom. We cannot log in to your account, see an online order or chat with TOBi for you.

The WhatsApp number 082 009 8624 is also the number Vodacom gives for its specific needs service. Vodacom additionally runs a Live Chat for registered Deaf, hearing impaired and speech impaired customers; its contact page lists 082 12580 and SMS 12580 for that support.

What you need before contacting

  • A My Vodacom profile. Vodacom says you register a profile to manage your cellphone account online, then log in from a desktop, phone or the app.
  • The right channel for the job. TOBi handles Prepaid, Top Up and Contract queries. Vodacom lists checking balances, airtime advance, buying bundles, getting a PUK, a SIM swap and fetching invoices or statements among the things it can do.
  • For an online shop order: the email you used, because Vodacom confirms payment by email. Its online shop terms say the order record can be viewed and printed on the site for 12 months only, so save a copy.
  • A South African Visa or Mastercard if you are buying online. The terms exclude Diners, AMEX and international cards.

Step-by-step contact process

  1. Try self-service first: log in to My Vodacom or VodaPay, or dial *135#, for balances, bundles and your PUK.
  2. If that does not solve it, start a chat with TOBi on the web, on WhatsApp at 082 009 8624, or by SMS to 082 009 4975.
  3. When TOBi cannot help, ask it to connect you to a live agent or arrange a call back, as Vodacom says it can.
  4. If your account is in arrears, log in to My Vodacom to resubmit a debit order or make a “promise to pay”, or dial *135#, choose Services and then Arrears Self Help, or SMS ARR to 31050.
  5. For an online shop delivery, allow the stated 3 to 5 working days after payment. Deliveries run Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, within South Africa only, and the address cannot be changed once the order has been dispatched.
  6. For a card refund on a cancelled order, Vodacom says it goes back to the card used and can take up to 21 working days. Airtime and data bundles bought online are not refundable.

Escalation route

Vodacom’s code of conduct says it aims to resolve a complaint within 14 working days, and sets out an escalation ladder from the agent to a team leader, supervisor and manager for each department. For general customer care that ladder runs through 082 135. Keep the reference number from your chat or call.

If Vodacom fails to resolve the complaint within 14 days, the code of conduct says you may take it to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) on 012 568 3000 or 3001, or by email to consumer@icasa.org.za. Online shop purchase disputes that customer care cannot settle go to arbitration under the shop’s terms.

Vodacom also warns customers not to respond to suspicious messages that ask for personal details. Suspected fraud, including an unauthorised SIM swap, upgrade or new line, is reported to FraudDisputes@vodacom.co.za with your ID, an affidavit and bank statements.
