Vodacom’s customer care number is free to call from a Vodacom line: 082 135. That is the one to start with, and the one most people are looking for. Everything else on this page exists because Vodacom routes by task rather than by department, so there are separate numbers for sales and upgrades, fibre, cancellations, repairs and device insurance — and using the right one skips a transfer. The cancellations number in particular is worth noting, because Vodacom publishes it separately rather than burying it inside customer care, and a cancellation handled on the wrong line is a cancellation that may not be recorded. Business customers have their own set of numbers entirely, including a WhatsApp line. If you are calling from outside South Africa, the international form of the care number is below. All numbers come from Vodacom’s own contact page.

What this organisation provides
Vodacom is a South African mobile network operator providing prepaid and contract mobile services, fibre and home internet, device sales and repairs, device insurance, VodaPay and a range of business connectivity and managed services. Its retail presence is substantial — it publishes a store finder and an appointment booking system, so a device fault or SIM problem can be handled in person rather than on the phone. Because the numbers are short-form 082 codes rather than standard 0860 lines, they are dialled as published and are free from a Vodacom handset in the case of customer care.
Address and operating information
Vodacom does not publish contact centre operating hours or a head office contact address on its contact page. It directs customers instead to its store finder, its appointment booking tool and TOBi, its chat assistant, which is available outside staffed hours. For anything involving a physical device — a repair, a SIM swap, an eSIM or a PUK problem — booking an appointment at a store is generally faster than the phone.
Support and escalation routes
- Fraud: report fraudulent communications sent on the network, or dispute fraud involving new lines, upgrades or SIM swaps, to [email protected]. Vodacom asks you to email your ID, an affidavit and bank statements — gather those before writing.
- Deceased accounts: [email protected], with subscriber collections on 082 1946 and customer care on 082 135. Vodacom publishes a deceased account form to download and complete.
- Specific needs: Vodacom runs a dedicated channel for customers with disabilities — email [email protected], call 082 12580, WhatsApp 082 009 8624, or SMS 12580.
- Keep the reference number from any call. A cancellation or a repair booking that cannot be evidenced is difficult to enforce later.
