The Vodacom customer care number is 082 135, free to call from a Vodacom phone (or just 135 from a Vodacom cellphone), and +27 82 135 if you are calling from abroad. Vodacom’s WhatsApp number is 082 009 8624, where TOBi, Vodacom’s digital assistant, can help with bundles, statements and invoices, SIM swaps and more, and connect you to a live agent. Cancellations are on 082 1958 and sales and upgrades on 082 17844. To cancel a content subscription, dial *135*997#. Vodacom customer care line: hours and what time it closes
The Vodacom help number is customer care on 082 135, or just 135 from a Vodacom cellphone. Human agents on this line work Monday to Sunday, 06:00 to 22:00, so the voice line closes at 22:00 every day and is not a 24-hour helpline. The 24/7 route is TOBi on WhatsApp at 082 009 8624, which can hand you over to a live agent. To talk to a Vodacom agent directly, call 135 during those hours. Red customers skip the queue and are helped by the dedicated Red Crew.
Vodacom’s own pages do not fully agree on the hours. The Vodacom Group corporate contact page describes the customer care lines as “open 24 hours”, while the agent hours of 06:00 to 22:00 come from Vodacom’s South African contact pages. If you need a person, plan around 06:00 to 22:00.
Vodacom has no separate Johannesburg or regional customer care number. The regional office numbers on its contact page are for base station lease queries, not customer care.
Calling Vodacom customer care from a landline
Vodacom does not publish a landline or 0800 customer care number. The number to call Vodacom from a landline is the full 082 135. Vodacom only says the call is free from a Vodacom phone, so normal rates for calling a cellphone apply from a landline. From abroad, use +27 82 135.
Vodacom Service Provider contact number
If your account is held directly with Vodacom Service Provider, call customer care on 082 135. Vodacom distinguishes these accounts from accounts held with another service provider, such as Autopage or Nashua, and only direct Vodacom Service Provider customers can upgrade online.
Vodacom emergency number
Dial 112 from a Vodacom phone to be connected to the nearest government emergency service for your location. Vodacom says 112 is free to contract, top up and prepaid customers and works even if you are out of airtime.
How to cancel a subscription on Vodacom
Content subscriptions (WASP and other value added services billed to your number) are cancelled by self-service, not through the contract cancellations line. Vodacom’s help pages give these routes:
- USSD: dial *135*997# and choose Unsubscribe All or the individual service.
- SMS: send “STOP ALL” to 31050. Vodacom sends a confirmation SMS once the service is cancelled.
- VodaPay app: tap My account, then Manage services, then Content services, where you can deactivate services one by one or all at once, and block future content services from being added.
To see what is active before you cancel, dial *135#, then Services, Content Services, View Active Subscriptions, or SMS “STATUS” to 31050. If you see subscriptions or add-ons you did not request, Vodacom says you may request a review, dispute the charges or cancel the services.
Vodacom cancellations number, email, upgrades and retentions
Vodacom publishes separate numbers for sales and for cancellations, rather than routing both through customer care. To cancel a contract, call the Vodacom cancellations number, 082 1958. For an upgrade or a new contract, call Sales and Upgrades on 082 17844. Vodacom’s contact page does not list a separate retentions number, so cancellation queries start on 082 1958. For fibre, call 082 1904.
The only cancellations email addresses on Vodacom’s contact page are for business services, and they are listed under Vodacom Business below. The page gives no cancellations email for personal contracts. Keep the reference number from any cancellation call, because a cancellation you cannot prove is hard to enforce later. Vodacom WhatsApp number and TOBi
Vodacom’s WhatsApp channel is TOBi on 082 009 8624. Vodacom says TOBi is always online, 24/7, for prepaid, top up and contract customers, and can help you buy bundles, get statements and invoices and do a SIM swap. If TOBi cannot answer your question, it can arrange for a person to call you back or connect you to a live agent, which is the closest thing Vodacom offers to a “call back” request. You can also SMS TOBi on 082 009 4975, which is an SMS number only, or chat to TOBi online through the Help section of vodacom.co.za.
Balance enquiry, billing and account numbers
- *135#: the self-service USSD menu, which works without internet.
- *136#: prepaid balance enquiry.
- 137: account enquiries.
- 132: listen to voicemail (the message centre).
- TOBi on WhatsApp, 082 009 8624: statements and invoices.
The old codes 111, *111#, 100 and 121 were switched off after 24 March 2018 and replaced by 135, *135#, 136 and 132. Vodacom does not publish a separate billing department number or an accounts email address: billing queries go through 082 135, 137, TOBi or the app. Contract customers can see invoices and itemised billing after registering online or in the VodaPay app.
Vodacom head office contact details
Vodacom’s corporate office is at Vodacom Corporate Park, 082 Vodacom Boulevard, Midrand 1685. The postal address is Private Bag X9904, Sandton 2146, and the head office telephone number is +27 11 653 5000, which is 011 653 5000 when dialled inside South Africa. These details come from the Vodacom Group contact page. The head office number is a corporate switchboard: the same page sends customers to 135, 082 135 or +27 82 135 for customer care.
Vodacom’s customer contact page lists the same 011 653 5000 as the Midrand and Northern region office for base station lease queries, with Cape Town on 021 440 8211 and Durban on 031 492 3005, and other base station queries on 082 198. These are not customer care lines.
Repairs, lost phones and fraud
- Repairs: call 082 1944 for device or service repairs, or book an appointment at a store.
- Device insurance: call 082 1952.
- Fraud: do not respond to suspicious messages asking for personal details. To dispute fraud involving new lines, upgrades or SIM swaps, or to report fraudulent messages on the network, email FraudDisputes@vodacom.co.za with your ID, an affidavit and bank statements.
Vodacom network problems and technical support
To log a mobile network fault, go to the MyVodacom App, then Support, then Network, then Report an issue. Check the Network Outage section in the VodaPay or MyVodacom app to see whether a problem is area-wide or only on your line, or ask TOBi on WhatsApp at 082 009 8624. For fibre installations, faults and technical support, call 082 1904. For device or service repairs, call 082 1944. Vodacom says most network faults are resolved within 24 to 72 hours, depending on complexity and technician availability.
Vodacom collections and deceased accounts
For an account in arrears, the Subscriber Collections department is on 082 1946. To close the account of someone who has died, email a certified copy of the account holder’s ID or passport and the death certificate to deceased@vodacom.co.za. Vodacom rewards and VodaBucks contact number
If a rewards coupon, code or voucher is not received, contact customer care on 082 135. Vodacom reissues missing coupons within seven working days once confirmed, and VodaBucks Store returns must be logged on 082 135 within seven working days of delivery. If your phone is locked for VodaBucks transactions, contact Vodacom Forensic Services on 082 135 or 011 546 1530 (08h00 to 17h00) to unlock it.
VodaPay helpline
VodaPay does not publish a phone helpline. Its contact page offers 24/7 help and support through TOBi in the VodaPay app, where you can chat to a consultant.
Support for customers with specific needs
Vodacom runs a dedicated channel for customers with disabilities: call 082 12580 and choose “Speak to a Consultant”, SMS 12580, WhatsApp 082 009 8624, or email 12580@vodacom.co.za. Live chat is also available for registered Deaf, hearing-impaired and speech-impaired customers.

Business support is available Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. The 072 822 2611 number is for Business Sales on WhatsApp only. Business cancellation requests go by email, depending on the service: VBCcancellations@vodacom.co.za for general services, 0821904@vodacom.co.za for fibre to the home, APNmanagement@vodacom.co.za for APN, and VCSBSRetCancell@vodacom.co.za for mobile.
Vodacom stores and email
For in-person help, including at stores such as Constantia Village, Musgrave, Liberty Midlands Mall, Zevenwacht Mall, Bluff or Mayville, use Vodacom’s Find a store tool and book an appointment online. Store trading hours differ by store and are not listed on the contact page.
Vodacom’s contact page does not list a general customer care email address, such as a customercare mailbox, or a consumer complaints email. For a complaint, start with customer care on 082 135 or TOBi on WhatsApp, and keep the reference number.
retailsupport.vodacom.co.za is a Vodacom Retail IT remote-support portal that uses BeyondTrust software to give a technician full access to your computer. It is not a customer care channel. Only use it when a Vodacom Retail IT representative has asked you to.
