How to reach Vodacom about an Easy2Own phone

Easy2Own support runs through Vodacom’s normal channels: customer care on 082 135, the Easy2Own App on the phone itself, and Vodacom stores. The Easy2Own product page has a “Find my nearest store” option if you want help in person.

If your Easy2Own phone is stolen or lost, Vodacom’s lease terms say you must report it immediately on 082 135 and ask for the device to be blacklisted.

If you are a Vodacom contract customer and want to use Easy2Own with your existing number, you first need to move that number to Vodacom Prepaid by calling 082 1958.

For other Vodacom numbers, see the telecoms and internet hub.

How Easy2Own phones work

Vodacom’s current terms describe Easy2Own as an “Easy To Own” device lease: the phone is leased from Vodacom South Africa (Pty) Ltd, and ownership passes to you at the end of the term or through the purchase option.

  • The phone is linked to a Vodacom prepaid SIM until it is paid off.
  • Payment periods run from about 12 months (with monthly payments) to a maximum of 24 months.
  • You keep the phone unlocked by buying daily, weekly or monthly Unlock Bundles. Each bundle gives 100MB and 10 minutes per day.
  • If a bundle expires and you do not buy a new one, the phone locks until you buy another in the Easy2Own App.
  • A soft-locked phone still allows emergency calls (112), the Easy2Own App and the customer care line.
  • How to apply for an Easy2Own phone

You need a valid South African ID and proof of residence; no bank account is needed. Online applications need a debit or credit card for the deposit, while in-store applications accept cash or card. Vodacom decides eligibility through a scoring analysis with ID validation and a light credit and affordability check.

Where to pay and what hours apply

Vodacom does not publish a separate Easy2Own office address or Easy2Own-specific hours. You can pay your Easy2Own instalments through the Easy2Own App, at any EasyPay paypoint or at a Vodacom-branded store.

Problems with an Easy2Own phone, and ending the lease

Start with customer care on 082 135 or a Vodacom store. Vodacom does not publish a separate Easy2Own escalation line. If you want to end the lease, the terms allow this on 20 business days’ written notice.

Easy2Own is also sold by third-party resellers, but the contact routes on this page are Vodacom’s own. For other providers, browse the telecoms directory A to E.
