Why the name trips people up
Southern Sun names most Garden Court hotels after the city: Garden Court Polokwane, Garden Court Kimberley, Garden Court Mthatha, Garden Court East London.
Pretoria is an exception. Its Garden Court is named after the suburb, Hatfield, not the city. So searching for the city name returns nothing on the hotel group’s own site, and people conclude the hotel has closed. It has not.
If a booking confirmation, an invoice or a travel agent says “Garden Court Pretoria”, it means Garden Court Hatfield. There is no second Pretoria property to confuse it with.
Where it actually is
The hotel is on the corner of End Street and Pretorius Street, in Hatfield, on the eastern side of Pretoria. Southern Sun publishes its coordinates as 25 degrees 44 minutes 36.6 seconds south, 28 degrees 14 minutes 45.9 seconds east.
Hatfield is the university and embassy quarter, which is why the hotel sits where it does. If you are being told to go to the Pretoria CBD, that is the wrong side of town.

Note the conference capacity. A single room for 40 is small for a Garden Court, so if you are planning anything larger, ask before you assume and let the hotel point you at a bigger Southern Sun property in the city.
Check-in is from 14h00 and check-out is by 11h00. Arriving off an early flight means a wait unless you have arranged an early check-in with the hotel directly.
