Garden Court Durban Contact Details
Durban has two Garden Court hotels, both on the beachfront and both on the same street. Garden Court Marine Parade is 031 337 3341 and Garden Court South Beach is 031 337 2231. Central reservations is 011 461 9744. We read this on southernsun.com on 24 September 2026.
The two Durban Garden Courts
| Hotel | Telephone | Address | Reservations email |
|---|---|---|---|
| Garden Court Marine Parade | 031 337 3341 | 167 OR Tambo Parade, Durban | gcmarineparade.reservations@southernsun.com |
| Garden Court South Beach | 031 337 2231 | 73 OR Tambo Parade, Durban | gcsouthbeach.reservations@southernsun.com |
Both sit on OR Tambo Parade, the beachfront road, a few hundred metres apart. Marine Parade is at number 167 and South Beach at number 73.
These two are very easy to confuse
This is the whole reason this page is worth reading before you dial.
Both numbers begin 031 337. Only the last four digits differ, 3341 against 2231. Both addresses are on the same road. Both are Garden Courts. Both are on the Durban beachfront.
Worse, “Marine Parade” is also the old name of the road itself, which was renamed OR Tambo Parade. So “Garden Court, Marine Parade, Durban” can mean either the hotel called Marine Parade or a hotel on the road formerly called Marine Parade, which includes South Beach.
So check the street number on your booking. 167 is Marine Parade and 73 is South Beach. That single number resolves it faster than the hotel name does.
Which one you probably want
Garden Court Marine Parade is the larger of the two, with 352 rooms and conference space for up to 350 delegates. It has a restaurant, an indoor swimming pool and on-site parking. If you are booking a conference or a large group in Durban, this is the one.
Garden Court South Beach is the smaller property, with a pool, a restaurant, on-site parking and two conference venues. Southern Sun positions it as the family option.
Both run check-in from 14h00 and check-out by 11h00.
Which number to use
| What you need | Where to go |
|---|---|
| A new booking at either hotel | Central reservations, 011 461 9744 |
| Something about your current stay | That hotel’s direct number |
| An item left in a room | That hotel’s direct number |
| A conference enquiry | The hotel’s reservations mailbox |
| Change or cancel a booking made elsewhere | The agent you booked through |
Central reservations books both properties but cannot help with a stay in progress. For anything happening in the building right now, use the direct number.
The two reservations mailboxes follow Southern Sun’s standard pattern, the property name followed by the word reservations. Sending a Marine Parade query to the South Beach mailbox will simply be forwarded, slowly.
Other Garden Courts in KwaZulu-Natal
Southern Sun also lists a Garden Court at Ulundi in the province, away from the coast.
Elsewhere the group lists Garden Courts at Sandton City, Morningside Sandton, Milpark, Eastgate and Hatfield in Gauteng, and at Kings Beach, Nelson Mandela Boulevard, Victoria Junction, East London, Mthatha, Polokwane and Kimberley. All book through the same central number.
Finding them on a map
Because the names and the numbers are so close, coordinates settle it faster than an address search.
| Hotel | Published coordinates |
|---|---|
| Marine Parade | 29 degrees 51 minutes 13.4 seconds south, 31 degrees 02 minutes 17.8 seconds east |
| South Beach | 29 degrees 51 minutes 26.6 seconds south, 31 degrees 02 minutes 20.4 seconds east |
The two sit roughly 400 metres apart along the same seafront, with South Beach the further south of the pair. Both publish on-site parking, so neither needs a street bay.
What we are not publishing
Southern Sun names the general manager of each property on its hotel pages. We do not republish those names.
Ask for the duty manager by title on the hotel’s direct number. That reaches the right desk and keeps working after the post changes hands.
