The park is 68km east of Otjiwarongo in central Namibia. NWR gives the distance as 570 km from Windhoek and 499 km from Swakopmund. The plateau and about 405 km² of surrounding land were declared a nature reserve in 1972. Reception hours are not published on the resort page.
