Of those, the media mailbox is the closest thing to a programme contact, because corporate citizenship sits on the group side of the business rather than in retail banking. Do not use the retail banking numbers for a CSI question; Absa directs all customer and client queries to the relevant country website instead.
What this organisation provides
The Absa CSI Trust was formed as part of the broad based black economic empowerment transaction that Absa launched on 1 September 2023. That transaction allocated a 4 percent shareholding in the bank to fund social impact activities, which means the trust is funded by dividends on those shares rather than by an annual grant budget decided each year.
The corporate citizenship programmes Absa publishes alongside the trust include the Absa Cybersecurity Academy, colleague volunteering, entrepreneurship and employability work, financial literacy and education including a programme called I Grew It: Finance 101, a fellowship programme, and Ready to Work. These run as named initiatives rather than as an open grant window, which is worth knowing before approaching them for funding.
