Makro Vereeniging trading hours

Makro Vaal trades Monday to Friday 08:30 to 18:00, Saturday 08:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 09:00 to 16:00. On public holidays the store runs shorter hours, 09:00 to 16:00 on a weekday holiday, 08:00 to 16:00 on a Saturday and 09:00 to 16:00 on a Sunday, and it closes completely on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The 08:30 weekday opening is half an hour earlier than several coastal Makro stores, which open at 09:00, so a habit formed at another branch will not transfer.

Contacting Makro about the Vereeniging store

• National contact number: 0860 600 999
• National WhatsApp: 060 019 7747
• National email: info@makro.co.za

Makro publishes the same three national routes against every one of its stores, so nothing on the official finder will connect you to a phone inside the Vereeniging building. When you call, name the store, because the agent has no way of knowing which one you mean.

A query that genuinely needs someone standing in the store, such as whether a specific item is on the shelf right now, is not something the national line can answer well. For that, the practical route is to check stock online for that store first, or to go in.

What Makro Vaal sells

Makro trades as a warehouse wholesaler, which means bulk and trade buying alongside ordinary retail, across groceries, liquor, general merchandise and appliances. Buying on a trade basis is a different transaction from buying as a consumer, and it changes what protection applies, so keep the invoice and note which basis you bought on.

Makro head office and complaints

Makro is part of the Massmart group, with its head office at 16 Peltier Drive, Sunninghill, Sandton 2157. Because contact is centralised, a complaint about this store is logged nationally rather than with a store manager, so ask for a reference number when you log it and keep it. If the complaint is not resolved, retail purchases fall under the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272, with the National Consumer Commission above it.
