Rulich Pretorius Attorneys, which trades as RP Attorneys, is a boutique legal practice in Pretoria East, running since 2019. It splits its contact routes in two: one for the legal practice and a separate one for its debt mediation work, each with its own number, mailbox and hours. Using the wrong one is the usual reason a query sits unanswered.
Legal practice contacts
- Telephone and WhatsApp: 071 355 5950
- Email: [email protected]
- Office hours: Monday to Thursday 09h00 to 16h00, Friday 09h00 to 14h00
- Location: Pretoria East, Gauteng
The 071 number is a mobile and is the only number the practice publishes for its legal work; it doubles as the WhatsApp line. There is no switchboard and no street address on the site, so a consultation address is arranged when you book rather than being a walk-in office.
Debt mediation contacts
- Telephone: 012 940 0814
- Email: [email protected] or [email protected]
- Office hours: Monday to Friday 08h00 to 16h30
The debt mediation arm keeps longer hours than the legal practice and answers on a Pretoria landline. Note that its mailboxes sit on different domains from the law firm; that is how the practice publishes them.
Fields of practice
- Commercial law
- Labour law
- Civil litigation
- Financial services law
Before you make contact
A boutique practice of this size takes instructions selectively, so say in your first message what the matter is, which court or forum it is in if proceedings have started, and whether there is a deadline. Ask for the fee basis in writing before work begins: attorneys must give you a cost estimate, and for litigation the difference between an hourly rate and a capped fee is the whole cost of the matter. If you are approaching the debt mediation side, be clear that mediation is not debt review under the National Credit Act; they are different processes with different legal effects.
Complaints and escalation
- Raise a service or billing complaint with the practice first, on 071 355 5950 or [email protected]
- Attorneys are regulated by the Legal Practice Council, which handles complaints about professional conduct and overcharging
- The Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund covers theft of money held in trust by an attorney
