SAICA Contact Details
SAICA’s contact centre is 0861 072 422, also written as 08610 SAICA, or 011 621 6600. It is open 08:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, and closed on weekends and public holidays. SAICA also runs four regional offices with their own numbers. We read this on saica.org.za on 24 September 2026.
SAICA contact centre
| Contact centre | 0861 072 422 or 011 621 6600 |
|---|---|
| Hours | Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30 |
| Weekends and public holidays | Closed |
| Fraud line, toll-free | 0800 005 930 |
The vanity form 08610 SAICA and the number 0861 072 422 are the same line: the letters SAICA spell 72422 on a keypad. Either works.
0861 is a share-call prefix, so the call is charged. 011 621 6600 is an ordinary Johannesburg landline and is usually the cheaper option if you have bundled minutes.
Dialling from outside South Africa, add +27 and drop the leading zero.

One thing to check before you travel: SAICA marks the Northern Region address in Bryanston as “effective early 2026”. It is a recent move, so an older address for the Johannesburg office found elsewhere is likely to be the previous premises. Phone ahead.
The Northern Region does not have a separate direct line. It is served by the main contact centre number.
Note that the Eastern Region is the only one with two numbers, useful when one is engaged.
Technical questions will not be taken by phone
This is the most important thing to know before calling, and it will save a wasted call.
SAICA states that, because of its risk management policy, enquiries of a technical or ethical nature will only be dealt with in writing, and that the service is limited to SAICA members.
So no one at the contact centre will give you an accounting, auditing or ethics opinion over the telephone, no matter how simple the question. And if you are not a member, that service is not available to you at all.
Members are directed to the FAQ section and the site search first, and then to the appropriate “Ask a question” facility, which runs on a workflow system that tracks replies and turnaround times. Queries can also be logged and tracked through the Member Portal, which gives you a record of the exchange.
Use the phone for administrative matters: membership, fees, events, Thuthuka, trainee and training office questions.
Checking that an accountant is really a CA(SA)
SAICA runs a free public Verify a Member tool on its website, and this is the single most useful thing on it if you are not a member yourself.
You can search its member database by member number, identity or passport number, first name or surname, and you can enter just the first few letters of a name. You can filter by designation: CA(SA), AGA(SA) or AT(SA).
Before you hand financial records to someone claiming to be a chartered accountant, check the designation there. It takes a minute and does not require you to phone anyone.
SAICA restricts what the results may be used for. The data is provided solely to verify membership, and it states that under no circumstances may it be used for direct marketing or advertising of any nature, referring to the definition of direct marketing in the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
Reporting fraud
| Free call | 0800 005 930 |
|---|---|
| Free fax | 0800 007 788 |
| Free post | KZN 138, Umhlanga Rocks, 4320 |
| Online | tip-offs.com |
The fraud line is independently operated rather than run by SAICA itself, which is the point of it: a report does not land with the people it concerns. Every channel is free, including the post.
SAICA masks the email address on its own page, so use the published telephone, fax, postal or website routes rather than guessing at an address.
For the record, SAICA is registered as a non-profit organisation, NPO registration number 020-050-NPO.
