Clover splits its contacts cleanly between the consumer line, which handles anything about a product you bought, and the head office switchboard, which does not. Getting that split right saves a transfer.

Clover contact details

Note that media enquiries and company secretary matters share one mailbox at Clover. Put which of the two you are in the subject line, because they go to quite different people once opened.

Complaining about a product

Consumer Service is the route, and the call goes much better with the pack in front of you. Have the batch code and the best-before date, which are printed on the pack rather than on the label artwork, plus where and when you bought it. Keep the product rather than discarding it: for a genuine quality complaint Clover may want it back, and a photograph of a bin is not evidence of anything.

Dairy complaints are also a food safety matter, not just a refund question. If a product made you ill, say so explicitly at the start of the call, because that routes differently from a texture or taste complaint. Clover publishes a food safety policy on its own site.

Finding a depot or plant near you

The Clover contact page carries a facility finder rather than a flat list, and it is more useful than it looks. You can filter by country across South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Eswatini, then by region, then by facility type: head office, distribution, milk depot, fluid product manufacturing and concentrated product manufacturing. The regional list runs from Bloemfontein and City Deep through to Welkom, so most towns with a Clover presence are covered.

Use the facility type filter deliberately. A milk depot is a distribution point and cannot help with a retail complaint, while a manufacturing site will not sell you product over the counter.

Trade, supply and procurement

Do not phone consumer service to sell something to Clover. It is a consumer complaints desk and will refer you back to the registration forms.

If a complaint is not resolved

Put it in writing to the consumer mailbox and keep the reference. An unresolved consumer complaint about a food product can be taken to the National Consumer Commission, and a food safety concern can be reported to the environmental health department of your local municipality, which has statutory powers a company complaints desk does not.
