Pick n Pay publishes no HR telephone number and no recruitment mailbox. For entry-level positions it publishes something more specific and more useful: a three-step route through an outside platform, and an explicit instruction not to drop off or email a CV.

How Pick n Pay says to apply

Its own corporate site sets this out for anyone looking for an entry-level position in a Pick n Pay corporate store nationwide:

The data-free part is the point. SA Youth is zero-rated on South African networks, so registering and applying costs you no data at all, which is exactly why a large employer routes entry-level hiring through it. Pick n Pay states there is no need to drop off or email a CV, and a CV left at a store reaches nobody.

Note the wording: corporate stores. Pick n Pay operates both corporate and franchise stores, and a franchise store is a separate employer that does its own hiring. If the store you want is a franchise, ask at that store rather than through the group route.

The group contacts that do exist

Use the registered office address for formal employment correspondence, such as a grievance, a notice, or a demand from an attorney. A letter to a store is not service on the company. The customer care line is listed only so you know what it is not for; it handles shopping complaints and cannot see a job application.

If you already work there, or used to

Payslips, UIF documents, certificates of service and provident fund queries go through your store manager or the HR office at the site where you worked, not through a head office switchboard. A former employee who has lost that contact should write to the registered office quoting employee number, store and dates of employment.

Reporting misconduct rather than applying

Pick n Pay runs an independently managed whistleblowing line that accepts anonymous reports, and this is the correct route for theft, fraud or misconduct by staff, including anyone selling jobs.

The job scam that uses this name

A large retailer with constant entry-level hiring is a standing target for recruitment fraud, and the pattern is always the same. Nobody at Pick n Pay charges for an application, an interview, training, a uniform or a medical. A real process runs through the SA Youth platform, and a real offer is in writing from a corporate address. If somebody asks you to pay to secure a position at Pick n Pay, that is theft, and the tip-offs line above is where to report it.
