Applications to the Vaal University of Technology go to the admissions office, which has its own mailbox separate from general student enquiries. Sending an application question to the wrong one is the commonest reason for a slow reply during application season.
VUT application contact details

- Student enquiries: [email protected]
- Switchboard: 016 950 9000
- Share-call line: 0861 861 888

VUT’s main campus is in Vanderbijlpark, and the 016 dialling code is the Vaal Triangle. The 0861 number is the one to use from outside the region.
Other VUT desks
- IT support, including portal and email problems: [email protected]
- Media and communications: [email protected]
- Ethics and fraud hotline: linked from the top of vut.ac.za, run separately from the university
The ethics and fraud hotline matters at application time. Any offer of a guaranteed place, a bypassed requirement or a fast-tracked registration in exchange for money is fraud, and the hotline is where to report it.
Applying
Applications are online through vut.ac.za. Programme requirements and closing dates are published per qualification rather than centrally, and a closing date missed is not recoverable by phoning — check the date for your specific programme before anything else. VUT also runs a Co-operative Education office, because most of its qualifications carry a work-integrated learning component, and that placement requirement is worth understanding before you enrol rather than in your final year.
If admissions does not respond
- Escalate to the Registrar, whose office is listed under Support Services on the VUT site and which is responsible for admissions, records and graduation.
- Quote your application reference number in every message; the admissions mailbox is sorted by it, not by name.
- The Department of Higher Education and Training is the escalation point outside the university once its internal process is exhausted.
