If you use Absa Online Banking you can also apply for a will from inside your profile. Absa’s wills pages on absa.co.za were checked on 16 September 2026.

Absa’s Talk to us directory pairs Wills Direct with the general mailbox absa@absa.co.za, but the wills page itself gives absatrust@absa.co.za, which is the better address for a will query. This page is about making a will while you are alive. When someone has died, the estate is reported through Absa’s Estate Intake Centre on 0860 110 287 or its online deceased estate form, which is a different team.
What this organisation provides
Wills Direct is the Absa desk that draws up wills. Absa lists what its will can do: name an executor to wind up the estate, nominate a guardian for minor children, set up a testamentary trust and name its trustee, record funeral wishes, deal with more than one marriage or relationship, plan for estate duty and liquidity, and put business succession in place for owners. The callback form offers three choices, drafting a will, updating my will or change an existing will, and asks for your province and whether you prefer a call or an email.
Absa’s business wills page adds that it can include foreign assets, sends annual reminders to update the will, says the will is kept safe and secure, offers unlimited free will consultations and gives discounts to pensioners. It does not print a price for a standard will on the pages we read.
Prices are published only for the Islamic will. Drafting costs R342, and the executor’s fee is 3.5% plus VAT of the gross asset value. Keeping the signed will in Absa Trust’s safe custody costs R60 a year and earns a 15% discount on that executor’s fee. The page says the services are free for clients aged 60 or older with assets of R300 000 or more. To qualify you must be single, married out of community of property without accrual, or married under Islamic law.
Address and operating information
Wills Direct takes calls on weekdays only, 08:00 to 16:00; Absa gives no weekend hours. Absa’s wills page also suggests visiting your nearest branch, and branch addresses are in the Find a branch tool on absa.co.za. The bank’s head office address is 7th Floor, Absa Towers West, 15 Troye Street, Johannesburg 2001. Absa does not publish a list of documents to bring for a will consultation, so ask the consultant when you book.

- Put the problem, such as a delayed draft or an error in the will, in writing to absatrust@absa.co.za, with your ID number and the date you first asked.
- If Wills Direct does not fix it, complain to Absa’s Complaint Resolution Suite on 0800 41 41 41 or actionline@absa.co.za, weekdays 08:00 to 16:30.
