The Vodacom collections number is 082 1946, Subscriber Collections, for a consumer account in arrears. Vodacom collections number and Subscriber Collections
Vodacom’s contact pages say that if your account is in arrears, you should contact Subscriber Collections on 082 1946. To fast-track a query, use the collections number given in your suspension SMS, or ask Customer Care on 082 135 to escalate it to Collections. Vodacom says manual unlocking is not permitted.
How to make a Vodacom payment arrangement
To set up a Promise to Pay (PTP), a formal agreement to settle your outstanding balance in full or in part on a set future date, you can use any of these:
- TOBi, Vodacom’s digital assistant: say “Payment Arrangement”.
- USSD: dial *135#, then My Account, then Arrears Self Help.
- Phone: call 082 135 (or +27 82 135 from abroad).
What to have ready and where to send proof of payment
Have your Vodacom account number and your ID ready, and check your suspension SMS for the collections number quoted there. If you are emailing proof of payment, put your Vodacom account number in the subject line.
If the account belonged to someone who has died, email deceased@vodacom.co.za. If an account, upgrade or SIM swap was done fraudulently in your name, email FraudDisputes@vodacom.co.za with your ID, an affidavit and your bank statements.
Paying an arrears account step by step
- Check your suspension SMS for the collections number, and have your account number and ID ready.
- Set up a Promise to Pay through TOBi (“Payment Arrangement”), *135# > My Account > Arrears Self Help, or by calling 082 135.
- For other arrears queries, call Subscriber Collections on 082 1946.
- Pay the agreed amount. If the payment has not reflected after 48 hours, email your proof of payment to pop@vodacom.co.za with your account number in the subject line.
- Once you have settled, you can ask for an “Account Paid in Full” letter on 082 135.
A payment arrangement on its own does not restore your services. Vodacom restores them only once the agreed payment is received and allocated, and a missed PTP date may keep restrictions in place. Linked numbers on the same overdue account may be suspended together, and devices may be blacklisted while the account is in arrears.
If your account was handed to a debt collector
Vodacom says accounts left unpaid for an extended period may be handed to an approved debt collection agency. After handover, all payments and arrangements must be made directly with that agency, and Subscriber Collections cannot remove the account from the agency. If your account has been handed over, contact the agency named in your letter or SMS.
Vodacom does not publish a separate escalation line for collections beyond Subscriber Collections and Customer Care. For other networks, browse the telecoms and internet hub or the telecoms directory V listings.
