To make a Vodacom payment arrangement, call Customer Care on 082 135, dial *135# and choose My Account, then Arrears Self Help, or say “Payment Arrangement” to TOBi, Vodacom’s chat assistant. Vodacom calls this arrangement a Promise to Pay: a formal agreement to settle an overdue balance in full or in part on a set future date, and Customer Care can escalate your request to Collections.
This page covers overdue Vodacom accounts only. For Vodacom’s other numbers, see the main Vodacom contact details page.

Official Vodacom payment arrangement route
Vodacom says that if your account is overdue, you can arrange payment to avoid suspension through any of three routes:
- Phone: call Customer Care on 082 135.
- USSD: dial *135#, then My Account, then Arrears Self Help.
- TOBi: open the TOBi chat at help.vodacom.co.za/tobi/home/web and say “Payment Arrangement”.
The Vodacom help centre also offers a “WhatsApp us” chat on 082 009 8624. Vodacom does not publish a separate public Collections phone number; instead it says to use the collections number on your suspension SMS.
What you need before contacting Vodacom
Have your Vodacom account number ready. When you pay by EFT, the reference is your 9-digit Vodacom account number, and the payment may take up to 48 hours to reflect.
Know what you can pay and when. A Promise to Pay commits you to settle the balance, in full or in part, on a specific date. Cash payments can be made at Vodacom stores, at major bank branches, or at retailers through Pay@.
If your account has already been handed over to a Debt Collection Agency, Vodacom says all payments and arrangements must go through that agency, not Vodacom.
Step-by-step contact process
- Have your Vodacom account number ready.
- Ask for the arrangement through TOBi (“Payment Arrangement”), through *135# then My Account, then Arrears Self Help, or by calling 082 135.
- A consultant assesses the account and sets a Promise to Pay date if you are eligible.
- To fast-track the request, use the collections number on your suspension SMS or ask Customer Care to escalate it to Collections.
- Pay by the agreed date. If the payment has not reflected after 48 hours, email your proof of payment to pop@vodacom.co.za with your Vodacom account number in the subject line.
Note that an arrangement on its own does not restore services. Vodacom restores them only once the agreed payment has been received and allocated. If you miss the Promise to Pay date, restrictions may be applied or stay in place until you pay.
Escalation route
The escalation route Vodacom gives is Collections: ask Customer Care on 082 135 to escalate your request, or use the collections number on your suspension SMS. Once the account is paid, you can ask for an “Account Paid in Full” letter on 082 135 or in store; Vodacom says it is usually issued within 24 to 48 hours after the payment reflects.
For other networks and internet providers, browse the telecoms and internet hub or the telecoms directory V to Z.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Vodacom payment arrangement contact number?
Call Customer Care on 082 135. You can also use *135#, then My Account, then Arrears Self Help, or TOBi chat.
Will a payment arrangement reconnect my Vodacom services?
Not on its own. Services come back only once the agreed payment is received and allocated.
Where do I send proof of payment to Vodacom?
If your payment has not reflected after 48 hours, email it to pop@vodacom.co.za with your Vodacom account number in the subject line.
My account is with a debt collector. Can Vodacom still help?
No. Once the account is handed over to a Debt Collection Agency, all payments and arrangements go through that agency.
