Operations at this location
Harmony lists Doornkop, Kusasalethu, Mponeng and Savuka as its Gauteng (West Rand) operations; the last three are the Carletonville group. Mponeng mainly exploits the Ventersdorp Contact Reef. Production began in 1986, and a life-extension project was approved in February 2024. Harmony acquired Mponeng from AngloGold Ashanti.
At Kusasalethu, a plant upgrade feasibility assessment is planned as part of the West Wits reclamation project. Savuka is a surface operation.
