The company’s registered name is Toyota Financial Services (South Africa) Ltd, an authorised financial services provider and registered credit provider, NCRCP62. Quote your Toyota account number in every email, because the admin, NaTIS and insurance teams work off the account number rather than your name.
Toyfin account services
Most account requests are faster through the Toyfin self-service site than by phone. Existing customers register free with an ID number and PIN, or a username and password. Once you are in you can:
- View your account overview, transaction history and amortisation schedule.
- Download statements, a settlement quotation, a tax certificate, a copy of your NaTIS document, a border letter, a paid-up letter or a copy of your contract.
- Update your physical address, debit order details, insurance details, registration number and payment due date.
- Log a payment arrangement, a notice of theft or write-off, or a refund request.
- Log a compliment, complaint or query on the customer feedback form.
Some of those items are real time and some are handled by the customer service centre, so allow a working day or two before chasing them.
Settlement letters, NaTIS papers and paid-up letters
A settlement quotation can be pulled from the portal after logging in with your ID number and a one-time PIN, or requested by email to service@toyota-fssa.co.za. A paid-up letter is available online only for the first three months after the account is settled; after that, email the request.
For the NaTIS document, email service@toyota-fssa.co.za, mark the request for the attention of the NaTIS Department, and include your account number and the full delivery address you want it sent to. Toyota Financial Services says a duplicate original can be couriered once a fee is paid, or in rare cases collected at its Fairland office. Collection takes 24 to 48 hours, the original is only issued once the account is settled, and you must have confirmation of the request before going there.
Payments, refunds and payment methods
- Electronic payment details, including the Toyota receipts account and branch code, are published in the help section of the Toyfin account services site. Take them from there rather than from an email, and always use your Toyota account number as the reference.
- If you pay over a counter, make sure the teller records your Toyota account number and your name and contact details on the deposit slip.
- Refunds: send the request, with proof of payment where needed, to service@toyota-fssa.co.za for the attention of the Admin Department. The company says a refund typically follows in as few as two working days once it has everything it needs.
- Missing payments are traced and reallocated on request to the same address.
- Toyota Financial Services says it no longer switches accounts from debit order to cash; a change of payment method has to be set up as a special arrangement through the Admin Department.
Balloon payments and the end of the agreement
If your agreement ends with a residual or balloon amount, the refinance department is on 0861 114 739. Toyota Financial Services says it starts contacting customers six months before the balloon falls due, but that the responsibility to settle or refinance stays with you, and that the refinanced amount excludes arrears and arrear interest. Call at least a month before the agreement expires, because failing to settle or refinance leads to repossession.
Insurance held with the finance
Where Toyota Financial Services has arranged an outstanding debt policy on the vehicle, you cancel it by emailing proof of your own valid comprehensive cover to tfsinsurance@toyfin.co.za, or by phoning the call centre with the new policy details. Make sure your insurer records Toyota Financial Services’ interest in the vehicle on the policy confirmation.
