To qualify for a stand-alone device, Absa asks for a South African bank account, a business based in South Africa, and a clear credit record with no judgements.
PCI DSS compliance, done through the Data Security Manager portal, is mandatory under the merchant agreement. Absa says registered merchants get R200 000 breach cover.
