GTC administers and sponsors the GTC Group Pension and Provident Funds, its umbrella retirement funds, alongside stand-alone private funds it administers for employers. GTC is an Authorised Financial Services Provider, FSP number 731, and was formerly Grant Thornton Capital. It describes itself as the sponsor of the eighth largest umbrella fund in South Africa.

GTC retirement fund administration covers umbrella funds and stand-alone private funds, and the service set is broader than payroll-style contribution processing:

Member savings are invested through the GTC Houseview portfolio range, which is published monthly with minimum disclosure documents. The range is GTC Money Market, GTC One, GTC Three, GTC Five, GTC Shariah and GTC Market Plus. Portfolio names and benchmarks were changed to align them with their intended risk and return objectives, and the portfolios can manage exchange rate and offshore exposure risk.
Eligibility, account or policy requirements
- Membership is through a participating employer, not by individual application. An employer joins the umbrella fund on the published standard terms and conditions of participation for the GTC Group Pension and Provident Funds.
- A provident fund and a pension fund are separately named within the GTC group arrangement, so confirm with your employer or HR which of the two you belong to before querying a benefit.
- Individual member balances, statements and claim status sit behind the gtc-eb.co.za log in. Access is issued through the employer or the fund administrator, not opened by the member directly.
- Have your employer name, fund name and member or employee number ready. GTC administers many separate client funds, including named employer funds, so the fund must be identified before a query can be traced.
Escalation route
- Raise the query first with your employer HR or fund contact, then with GTC as the administrator on 010 597 6800 or [email protected].
- A complaint that the fund itself has not resolved goes to the Pension Funds Adjudicator, the statutory office for retirement fund complaints in South Africa.
- Conduct of GTC as a financial services provider falls under its FSP licence, number 731, and is regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority. Advice complaints route to the FAIS Ombud.
