PSSPF (Private Security Sector Provident Fund) Contact Details

The Private Security Sector Provident Fund (PSSPF) is the compulsory provident fund for employees of private security sector employers in South Africa; its administrator is SALT Employee Benefits in Midrand.
PSSPF is not Tanzania’s PSSSF (Public Service Social Security Fund). The fund’s website is psspfund.co.za.

For general questions, balances and claim status, call the helpdesk on 0861 177 775 or send a WhatsApp to 087 240 7006. Two-Pot System queries have their own line, 087 405 6376, and the Client Liaison Office is on 087 724 8799.
Claims and queries are handled by the administrator, SALT Employee Benefits, through separate mailboxes. Documents can also be faxed to 086 644 4328.

Retirement benefit counselling is outsourced to Efficient Corporate Solutions, on 087 944 7999 or PSSPF@efcorporate.co.za. Members log in to the member portal at psspf.benefitcounsellor.com to check statements and claims, and can update their details online.
What PSSPF provides
- Withdrawal benefit: for members who are retrenched, dismissed or resign. A member still employed in the private security sector cannot claim the withdrawal benefit.
- Death benefit: currently 39 months of fund salary. An accidental death benefit of R120 000 is payable on submission of the claim form and documents.
- Funeral benefit: Affinity Life became the funeral benefit administrator from 1 December 2025. Cover is R42 000 for the main member, R37 500 for a spouse, R36 000 for a child aged 14 to 21, R24 500 for a child aged 6 to 13, R19 500 for a child aged 1 to 5, and R12 700 for a child under 1, including stillborn. Claims are paid within 24 hours if the documents are complete.
- Two-Pot System: from 1 September 2024, 10% of savings, capped at R30 000, was moved to the savings pot. The minimum withdrawal is R2 000, and SALT Employee Benefits deducts tax.
- Disability benefit: disability must be reported in writing within 6 months of the last working day, with documents within 12 months.

How to claim and escalate
Withdrawal claim
- Download the Member Benefit Claim form from the Forms page.
- Your employer completes it. It must be signed by you and the employer and stamped with the company stamp.
- Attach a copy of your ID, a bank statement not older than 3 months stamped by the bank, and your SARS certificate.
- Email the pack to Psspf.exits@salteb.co.za.
Funeral claim
Call the funeral call centre on 010 600 1750 or email psspf.funeralclaims@salteb.co.za with the funeral claim form, a certified death certificate and the IDs.
