The separate reckless lending mailbox is worth knowing about. Reckless lending is a defined concept in the National Credit Act – credit granted without properly assessing whether you could afford it. A court can suspend or set aside such an agreement. Raising it there creates a record on the right footing; raising it through general support does not.

What this organisation provides

Lendplus offers short-term personal loans, with amounts on its own calculator running from R500 to R4,000. It publishes guides on how to borrow, how to postpone a repayment and how to repay, plus an account cancellation route.

Postponing is not free, and it is not the same as a payment holiday. Extending a short-term loan adds cost, and the total repayable grows each time. Ask for the new total in writing before agreeing, not just the new date.

Loans of this size and term sit at the expensive end of regulated credit. The National Credit Act caps what a lender may charge – interest, the initiation fee and the monthly service fee are each limited – so the quoted total should be checked against those caps rather than accepted as given.

Address and operating information

Lendplus publishes no physical or postal address on its site – it operates entirely online, through the phone line, the mailboxes above and its Facebook page.

The registered entity is Lendplus Technology (Pty) Ltd, company registration number 2023/805154/07. That registration date makes it a recent entrant rather than a long-established lender – not a fault, but worth knowing when you weigh it against alternatives.

Support and escalation routes

Lendplus publishes National Credit Regulator registration number NCRCP17814. Verify it before borrowing. The NCR keeps a public register of credit providers, and an unregistered lender cannot lawfully grant credit – checking the number against that register takes a minute and is the single most useful thing you can do before signing.

Raise a dispute with support first, in writing, keeping your loan reference. If it is unresolved:

Lendplus also publishes a PAIA manual, which is the route for a formal request for records it holds about you.
