Sunshine Loans payday loans: amounts and who can apply

Sunshine Loans offers payday loans from R500 to R4 000, for a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of 49 days. The loan is repaid by direct debit on your pay date. As an example, the home page says a loan of R2 800 over 27 days would attract interest and fees of R607.63, so about R3 407.63 is repayable in total.

To apply you must be over 18, a South African resident, and employed with a regular income. Sunshine Loans says it cannot help if most of your income comes from government benefits. You need a South African ID number, a cellphone that can receive SMS, and your banking details. Sunshine Loans uses your internet banking login to read your bank statements for the affordability check. During business hours it says applications are typically processed and approved in less than 60 minutes.
