CSi Rentals is the rental management arm of the CSi Property Group, a Midrand-based property business. It manages let properties on behalf of investor landlords rather than renting out equipment, which is the first thing to check if you have arrived here expecting plant or camera hire.
There is a genuine name trap. csirentals.com is an unrelated camera, lighting and grip rental company in New York. The South African business trades from csi-euf.co.za and uses csirentals.co.za for staff email. Matching the name is not enough – check the country and the town.
Official contact channels
- Head office telephone: 011 805 6316
- Enquiry form on csi-euf.co.za/contact/, where you choose an enquiry type and the branch, currently listed as Head Office only.
- Website: csi-euf.co.za, with rental listings under residential to let, student accommodation, commercial to let and agricultural to let.
Dial that number as 011 805 6316. The website prints it as “+27 011 805 6316”, which carries both the international dialling code and the national trunk zero and will not connect as written from a mobile. The correct international form is +27 11 805 6316, dropping the zero.
The only email address published on the site is the personal mailbox of a named member of staff, so it is not reproduced here. Staff move on and personal addresses go stale; the switchboard and the enquiry form are the durable routes, and the form lets you direct the query to the right team.
What this organisation provides
- Rental management for property investors, covering the letting and day-to-day management of tenanted properties.
- Property types managed include full title houses in lifestyle estates, sectional title units in security complexes, and retirement village houses and apartments.
- Related group services listed separately: property management, sales, home loans, student accommodation, commercial and agricultural letting, farms and smallholdings, and tenders.
- The group publishes guidance for landlords and tenants on repair responsibilities, including that urgent repairs are those needed to restore an essential service such as water, electricity, gas or sewerage.
Address and operating information
- Head office and postal address: Third Floor, Office Block F, Hertford Office Park, 90 Bekker Road, Vorna Valley, Midrand. The street and postal addresses are the same.
- Managed property areas are given as greater Gauteng, Witbank and Ellisras.
- Note the town names. Witbank is now eMalahleni and Ellisras is now Lephalale. The company uses the older names, so search its listings under both forms or you will miss stock.
- Only one branch is listed, Head Office in Gauteng. There are no separate branch telephone numbers for the Mpumalanga or Limpopo areas it manages.
Support and escalation routes
- Deposit disputes, unlawful eviction, failure to do repairs and unfair rental practices go to the Rental Housing Tribunal in the province where the property is. The tribunal is free to use, its rulings are binding, and you do not need a lawyer.
- Complaints about the conduct of the agency or an agent go to the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority, which regulates property practitioners and holds the Fidelity Fund. Ask for the agency’s Fidelity Fund Certificate; it is an offence to trade or to be paid commission without a valid one.
- Money held in trust, including deposits, is regulated. A landlord must invest a deposit in an interest-bearing account and account for the interest to the tenant.
- Sectional title and estate levy disputes go to the Community Schemes Ombud Service rather than to the rental agent.
- Queries about how your personal information was handled fall under POPIA, with the Information Regulator on 010 023 5200.
