Verified 19 September 2026Official source onlyIndependent directoryReport a wrong number

DMC Debt Management’s WhatsApp number is 072 515 6254. Its contact numbers are 086 110 1729 and 086 138 6583, and its email is helpme@dmc.co.za. DMC is a debt collection company: it either collects debts on behalf of banks, lenders and retailers, or buys those debts outright. We read these details on dmc.co.za on 19 September 2026.

What is DMC Debt Management?

DMC’s FAQ explains that when a credit provider, such as a bank, lender, municipality or retailer, has not been paid for a certain period, it may hand the account over or sell it to an outside collection company. DMC is one of these companies. It handles two kinds of debt:

  • Outsourced debt: the credit provider asks DMC to collect on its behalf. DMC does not own the debt.
  • Purchased debt: DMC has bought the debt and is now the owner. DMC says this usually means it can offer a more flexible arrangement or a bigger settlement discount.

Either way, you pay DMC and not the original credit provider. DMC says it holds the current balance, so paying it directly makes sure your payments are allocated correctly. DMC’s website says it has resolved R9,110,404,156 of debt across 1,564,278 accounts and given R1,662,794,199 in discounts.

Check that a DMC call is real

If someone calls about a debt and says they are from DMC, hang up and call DMC back yourself on 086 110 1729, or WhatsApp 072 515 6254, to confirm the account and the balance before you pay. According to DMC’s FAQ, under the Debt Collectors Code of Conduct it may contact you from 06:00 to 21:00, Monday to Saturday, including public holidays. If DMC cannot reach you by phone, it may send a field agent from Cybertrac, its field agent network, to arrange a visit and sign a payment arrangement with you.

Managing your DMC account online

  • DMCOnline is available 24/7. You can see your balance, make arrangements and payments, check available discounts, and download statements.
  • Once your account is paid in full, you can download a settled letter from DMCOnline. Credit providers sometimes ask for one when you apply for credit.
  • Payment options include debit order, PayFast and EasyPay. Debit orders are authenticated through DebiCheck.

Debit orders and missed payments

You choose your debit order date when you set up an arrangement. If the date falls on a weekend or public holiday, DMC deducts on the last business day before it. DMC says customers who pay by debit order may get a better deal, including no further interest or fees and an upfront discount. If you miss a payment or a debit order fails, DMC asks you to give a new deduction date or pay the outstanding amount. It may also use debit-order tracking to collect all or part of what is overdue.

Settlement offers

DMC offers personalised settlement discounts, and eligible settlement agreements carry no interest. To see the discount on your account, log in to DMCOnline or contact DMC. DMC’s journey has six steps: choose an instalment you can afford, choose a payment method, choose how DMC contacts you, keep up the monthly payments, download your settled letter, and become debt free. To keep track of your credit record, DMC points customers to Experian’s MyCreditCheck tool.

Credit bureaus and your DMC account

DMC’s FAQ describes a credit bureau as an organisation that collects consumers’ credit history from banks, retailers and similar sources, and shares it with credit providers who are assessing credit applications. It names TransUnion, Experian, Compuscan and XDS as examples in South Africa. DMC says that keeping up your monthly payments helps improve your credit score.
