Official Norraco contact channels
Norraco’s website gives one email address, info@norraco.co.za, and asks you to complete its contact form with your query. In the NSFAS account section of the site there is a Chat with an Agent live chat for students using Norraco Transact.
We could not find a Norraco Transact WhatsApp number or contact number on Norraco’s own website or its support widget, so we do not list one. Be careful with numbers you find elsewhere that claim to be Norraco’s. The WhatsApp number in the table above belongs to NSFAS, not Norraco.
What Norraco provides
Norraco describes itself as a South African fintech that provides payments and banking technology, such as card management, switching, wallets and biometric verification, to government, banking, telecoms and media clients. For NSFAS students, its site lists:
- Onboarding and KYC by virtual self-service.
- The Norraco Transact app for Android phones, and a web app for Apple devices and browsers.
- A physical NSFAS Mastercard for use at NPS ATMs and POS devices, and a virtual card for card-not-present purchases.
- Ways to get money out: ATM withdrawals, retail cash-out and third-party apps such as Zapper, SnapScan and Uber Eats.
NSFAS’s own website says TVET students have been paid into a bank account of their choice since 25 May 2024, and tells students not to use the old NSFAS Direct Payment Black Card. Which institutions still pay allowances through Norraco in 2026 is not stated on the pages we checked, so confirm with NSFAS or your institution if you are unsure.
