Steiner Hygiene Contact Details

Steiner is Bidvest Steiner, and steiner.co.za is its own site rather than a reseller’s. The company has been in washroom hygiene since 1958 and now runs four lines of business off one switchboard. Details read from its contact page on 6 September 2026.

The 0860 number is the sharecall route into the call centre and is the one to use for a service call or a quote. The 011 number reaches the head office at Spartan and is the better route for an account, contract or invoice query, where the call centre will only take a message.

Say which of the four you want

Steiner splits its offering into hygiene, consumables, deep clean and pest control, and the enquiry form on the site makes you choose between them plus jobs and general enquiries. They are run as separate service lines: the hygiene side covers air care, cubicle care, hand hygiene and drying, feminine hygiene, toilet and urinal care and floor care; consumables covers cleaning chemicals and paper products; deep clean handles basins, walls and floors, showers, baths, toilets and urinals; pest control covers ants, cockroaches, fleas, flies, rodents, termites, birds and stored-product pests. Naming the line at the start is the difference between one call and three.

One switchboard, national coverage

Steiner publishes a branch locator rather than a list of branch numbers, so the call centre is the entry point wherever you are and the locator only tells you which depot will service the site. If you already have a contract, the service reference on your invoice will get you to the right depot faster than the site address will.

Three things worth checking on a hygiene contract

• Ask what the service frequency actually is – washroom hygiene is sold on a servicing cycle, and the price only makes sense against the number of visits.
• Pest control is a regulated activity in South Africa. Ask for the registration details of the operator who will be on site.
• Consumables and service are billed differently. Confirm whether paper and chemical top-ups sit inside the monthly fee or outside it.
