Two different answers about his post

This is the thing most likely to confuse you, so it is worth being explicit about.

Continuing professional development listings and conference programmes still describe Professor Andre Venter as the academic head of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of the Free State. Those same biographies describe him as a child development specialist who took his doctorate in the field at the University of Alberta in 1991, with a particular interest in cerebral palsy, attention deficit and hyperactivity, autism and learning problems, and as the founder and past national chairman of PANDA-SA, the Paediatric Neurology and Development Association of Southern Africa.

The university’s own current staff list for that department says something different. No one named Venter appears on it, and the head of department is given as Professor Nomakhuwa Tabane, on the same departmental number.

Treat the course biographies as a description of a career rather than as a current directory entry. If you need to know whether he still holds a university post, the department is the place to ask, and the number above is the one to use.

Why there is no consulting room number here
